Not just NO, but HELL NO out of DFW. RT in mid-March cost me 288 total. Nothing on sale since then.

By and large all sales disappeared after May 15th. For example, there were still $400 flights to Europe from Atlanta if I departed by June 1. There were $429 total RT ATL>SJO. Once May 15th rolled around it all disappeared. July and August are being sold high. It probably happens every year, I just didn't realize it being somewhat new to following prices. What I'm also noticing is any tick-down in the price of fares is also for Sept and beyond so I'm not expecting any sales for July August but I will keep looking.

Next year do your best to pull the trigger on a July/Aug reservation before May 15th. I know I will.

I am so glad that I don't live in Anchorage, Alaska...

Besides, I'd need an extra few days in CR just to thaw my juevos first before commencing any activities con las chicas.

I recently (June) flew to CR from DC for $252 round trip on Delta through Atlanta. One of your CRT brothers posted the special rate. I couldn't resist!

Thank to RBC100 I took advantage of the AA special offer for the Citi CC. Between the AA offer and a mileage credit for test driving the new Lincoln Zephyr I had enough for a free trip. Yeap, already booked it for October! Total cost $30.22

HELL NO!

My company wants to shut down for 4th of July weekend and I thought it would be perfect for me to make a quick five day trip and decided to check the flights out of Chicago and was SHOCKED by the airfare!!

I wonder if the fares will come down around NOvember, Thanksgiving week.

I got to check that Zephr deal out and see if it is still avialble. Not going to buy one but worth a test drive for 2500 miles. Best fare I can find from Dallas now is about $510 including taxes which I have booked Labor day on the AA double miles deal offered recently. Hoping the fare will drop so I can get a credit.rbc100

I am flying out of Orlando on July 4th to San Jose, Costa Rica. My fare, including taxes is $458 RT on American Airlines. Best I could find for this part of Florida around July 4th. The days of cheap airfares appear to be over.

Flying to Costa Rica, from SFO (San Francisco)

Departing on June 29 (Thursday) and returning on July 10 (Monday).

AA had a "webfare" 3-4 weeks ago and I manage to get a ticket for $556. That's about the same I paid last year for those dates.

I just received an email from Delta for a fare of $199 each way, Atlanta to Liberia. It's not that great a deal, and you wind up in Liberia rather than SJO. But hopefully it's a herald of reduced fares to come.

I have done a lot of surfing for fares in the past, and right now I would say if you are traveling in the fall to wait until after Labor Day if at all possible. Fares to vacation destinations will often go down right after the so called end of summer travel season. And Septemeber and October are not high travel times to Central America. Hurricanes and all. But of course, trying to time airline fare sales is worse than trying to time the stock market.
