| Post subject: | Best Western Kamuk Hotel in Quepos |
Wingnut and I enjoyed our one-night stay at the Best Western Kamuk in downtown Quepos last weekend. It is a classy, four-story, recently-renovated hotel that offers small, but very nice, air-conditioned rooms at affordable prices during green season. We stayed in adjoining rooms with a balcony overlooking the courtyard and swimming pool. A color TV and phone is available in every room. A continental breakfast in the third-floor Kamuk Bar/Restaurant is included in the rate. Wingnut was able to negotiate a special guest rate of $40 ($46.60 with taxes) at the front desk. Parking is available in front of the hotel since the hotel parking lot is filled with construction debris from the recent renovations. (Hotel security will keep an eye on your vehicle.) The Kamuk hosts a typical tourist clientele, and "officially" maintains a zero-tolerance mongering policy...however, as with most official policies in CR, we managed to circumvent these petty details. Across the street are two laid-back bars that offer some limited (but very interesting) P4P action when the sun goes down. Bar "Wacky Wanda's" is owned by a gringo and the neighboring bar, "On the Rocks" is owned by a German lady. More details on the P4P scene will be provided in a separate thread. The main "go-to" person at the Kamuk is a bright, young tico named Oliver, who mans the front desk at the Kamuk. He speaks excellent English and can fix just about any problem that one may encounter at the hotel or in the close-knit downtown neighborhood. From my limited observations, Oliver commands a great deal of respect from the hotel staff, local businesses and working ladies. I enjoyed getting to know him over a few drinks at the aforementioned bars. He is good person to have on your side when staying at the Kamuk. |

I had no problems bringing chicas back to my room overlooking the pool at the Kamuk last year. Oliver is a great guy and one evening when I brought a chica back to the hotel he jokingly wanted to know if I was going to bring back a chica for him as well.He also has a pretty wife from Nicaragua that I met as well. Wacky Wanda's across the street from the hotel had some working ladies there. Not real pretty ones but most of them had great attitudes and for $ 50 for a few hours it was well woth it and convenient after a day of rafting and surfing at the beach. I will definetely stay @ the Kamuk next time I visit Quepos. |

When I brought a chica back to the hotel, Oliver almost had a cow. There was a big dinner party going on and his boss was just around the corner. He added that the Kamuk recently implemented the "zero tolerance" chica policy. I calmed him down, worked things out and promised that I would be very discreet. Wingnut brought his chica up much later in the evening with no problems. and: Quote: Wacky Wanda's across the street from the hotel had some working ladies there. Not real pretty ones but most of them had great attitudes and for $ 50 for a few hours it was well woth it and convenient after a day of rafting and surfing at the beach.
I agree with your assessment of P4P. I was not expecting any P4P talent when we arrived in Quepos, and was pleasantly surprised to find a total of a dozen or so girls (some from out of town) spread out between the bars and along the street. All were friendly, easy-going and eager since the availability of prospective customers was in short supply. I did spot a few nuggets in the rough, but few stunners. My wingman was able to entice a young cutie back to his room with a little help from our new found friend. I also noticed two hot looking ladies from the hotel working the bars. We paid in the 25K C. range (each) for our mongering experience in Quepos. |
