I'm looking for a nice hotel in Jaco near to the Beatle Bar. Can anyone tell me how far away the Marriott at Los Suenos or the Paradise Hotel are from the Beatle Bar.

I went from front door to front door on a scooter in less than 10 minutes. Note: The scooter was cheap , the hotel is not! ... Unless you want to pay big bucks, try one of the hotels within walking distance of BB.

Try the Copacabana only a couple of blocks away.

Canciones Del Mar next door to the Copa has also been getting good CRT reviews lately.

Also right across the street is the Hotel Roble Mar. Basic place, small pool and cafe around 50 a night if memory serves me right.

The Paradise Hotel is a couple hundred feet away on the other side of the street. It is across from the monkey bar. I like this hotel. I have stayed there twice. The ac works great. The downside is that the rooms are small and don't have a lock box. Sometimes you can hear the music from the monkey bar while trying to sleep.

I stayed at Canciones during March and have written very positive comments about the place. Right on the beach...nice rooms...wireless internet (even out by the beach area where breakfast is served)..reasonably priced...had no problem bringing a chica to my room and lastly, about a five minute (o.k....maybe 10) walk to the Beatle Bar and closer to the Monkey Bar.

The Paridiso is as close as you can get. The manager Richard is a great guy and is very helpful for tours, fishing, etc. The rooms are small with great A/C and cash talks.
The Amapola on the south end of town is a time share; but in the off season it may have rentals and it is really classy with all inclusive if you want it. Check it out. I do not know what it costs for rentals. I got a great deal for 27 wks green season on the cheap that can be used any time. and you can trade thru the assocations ( Interval and one other ) to anywhere. Arruba anyone ; check out the CRT pictures of the Colombianas there for $40. The Ticas give given the squeal of approval at the Amopola ( bidets included). It has a Casino, Bar and Restaurant. The cab fare is 500 colones more than to the MB from the BB.

I stayed at Amapola too for 1 night because I decided to stop in Jaco on my way back from Dominical, had no reservation anywhere and everything else was booked. My feeling about Amapola is that I'm glad I only had to stay there 1 night. It was a cold DUMP!! Like a cheap Holiday Inn and none of that Costa Rican feeling at all. Very friendly to families so lots of screaming yapping K*ds especially by the pool besides being in a lousy location. Piece of CRAP in my opinion.

I agree with everything said here except that Canciones Del Mar is literally in the same block as Beatle Bar, only across the street and down the side road to the beach. It can't be more than a two minute walk. I had a very pleasant stay there in May and would highly recommend the place.

It is great. But they did raise the "guest fee" to $15. It is worth mentioning.

imo the closest is Hotel Tangeri, approx 100 yards from main entrance. My preferred choice in Jaco. enjoy

There are several hotels close to the Beatle Bar, however the Tangeri is the nicest one with beautiful grounds and no chica fees within a five minute walk.

If you want to pm me, I have a hookup with a couple of hotels and am working on another. They charge chica fees, but have told me they will waive them for me if I let them know when the guys check in. Good prices during the green season too. They are being very accomodating with me since I send them a lot of business. On another note, I hope to have the pool bar there within the next six months.

The Hotel Los 4 Grandes (named in honor of the 4 Beatles) worked for Wingnut and me last week. At $30 per night (green season) and adjoining the Beatle Bar, this hotel was perfect for our two-night stay that dovetailed our June 1st fishing expedition.

The new accomodations are clean, spacious and air conditioned. Each unit contains a king-sized bed, a second room with two standard beds, color TV and a large bathroom. If you want to double up and save some money, the second room gives you some flexibility...however, you will need to keep the door to the second room open if you want the benefit of the air conditioner. The rustic beach motif furnishings are brand new. No pool, phones, safes or breakfast, though. At 5:00 pm, the reception is vacated, so chica fees are not an issue...but the lack of night security may be an issue for some. Be extra alert when doing a three-some.

The hotel is located within easy walking distance of the beach and downtown area. There are unsecured parking spots out front next to the Beatle Bar. We noticed that some of the guests were also working girls at the Beatle Bar.

We arrived in Jaco without reservations, but had no problems finding hotels with rooms available and ready to make a deal.
