Well, for reasons beyond my control, I have not been able to confirm my trip to San Jose' ahead of time, and in fact am still waiting to confirm my trip there from May 22nd through May 25th, yes that is NEXT WEEK!

So I am already seeing that if I can finally book tomorrow, there is almost NO room availablilty in the usual places (whatever happened to the GREEN SEASON lull???), and so it looks like I may HAVE to stay at a non-chica-friendly hotel. (any suggestions?)

So my questions are:
1) any suggestions of what hotel to try? Are there ANY decent chica friendly ones that might have availability? Is Europa chica friendly these days? Where else should I try? Will I have to go to the San Agustin, the replacement for the La Gran Via, even further away from the action?

2) What is the alternative, of a place to take a chica that is not as gross as the Hotel Asia? nor as expensive as the Del Rey for an hour or two?
Anyone been out to any of the Motels lately? (If things keep going the way they're going, soon we all may have to go to motels to practice our mongering.)
I was out to one of those motels many years ago, and it wasn't bad, but I don't even remember the name of it, and I know that paying the taxi out there wasn't cheap, and then you have to call one back to come get you, and the whole thing is kind of a hassle and a bit weird...

Anyone have any recent experience with an hourly solution to not having a chica friendly hotel?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Wow, that's expensive. Do you know if that's the minimum?
I was thinking more like an hour or two for $15 or something like that...
Is that the place where you enter through a garage door, then they pass you towels and condoms through a window that slides open into your room?

Si that's Motel Eden, you can always try the Morazan, yes Europa is chica friendly and probably has rooms. Here's a post on short term options~

Thanks for this link!

Anyone know about Motel Eden's minimum? is it $35? I can't imagine it being that much for just an hour or two?

I would imagine a lot could happen in that room in an hour or two.......requiring the same amount of work to clean and restock the room, as if a couple had spent the entire night there.

Plus, you have to figure in the the value of the added convenience of the place........sort of like a 7-11. :D

Think you might check the Best Western Downtown. Would think they might have rooms. Not the best section of town but seeing how it has almost become a must to take a taxi back to any hotel at night that should not be a drawback.

Motel Edan is not a short time place and do not think you can do any better than the 12 hour rate.

Last I used Hotel Eden, it was $22 for 6 hours. Anybody else been there recently to confirm changes there? Are we talking about the same hotel ID?

Talk to Bill over at the SL. He will make arrangement for you if he has the extra space. I have seen him go out of his way to accomodate folks. Give his bar some buisiness for good measure.

Man I stayed at Best Western Irazu ( on taca's tab ), which is like a 10-15 minute cab drive away, and I still brought a girl back.

San Jose has a shit load of hotels, so worse case grab a shitty one, and just go to ST hotels like Eden.

Most of us restrict ourselves to the popular 4-5 but so many more beyond that. You could also try negotiating a chica fee or the ability to bring back girls as long as they were quiet blah blah blah.

It was kind of funny though, at hotel Irazu with this Colombian hotty, and all these families are starring at me

First hotel I ever stayed at in the San Jose area. First in Costa Rica was a place near Jaco called Punta Leona. Irazu is a decent choice.

My first trip back to my room at the Irazu was with 2 chicas from the Key Largo. Key Largo in 1994 was like the HDR now. THE PLACE. $70 for both TLN.

When I took them into the lobby the manager waved them into the back office. I'm thinking...f*ck, they can't get in?? It was only to take their cedulas. Cool. Little did I know I would be talking to the manager the next night after I got robbed. He was cool, helped me contact my CC companies etc. I like the place.

It is a nice place, but would I choose to stay there; no. It has a pool, connected to Dennys, and like I said its easy to bring back chica's.

If it was closer to downtown alot of us would likely choose to stay there, but its about a 2000c-2500c trip into downtown with the pre assigned rate drivers the hotel has..

They used to have a free shuttle going downtown. But it would be a few blocks walk to HDR/KL.
