I'm on the look out for Labor Day Weekend. Right now it's at $548 round trip including taxes out of JFK. The $548 rate is for the non-stop going down to CR and the return with a stop in Guatemala (actually not a bad stop, it's the same plane and if you get off the plane there is a bar right outside the gate. It's a quick stop in Guatemala and actually works out better time wise for me).

If I see the fare drop into the mid $400 range and below, I will let you know.

Suggest you sign up as a Distancia member with TACA and they will E-Mail you directly when a special is coming out of the depature City you want to fly out of.

I too am waiting for a fare drop for the Labor Day Weekend, but when I called about the fights I wanted they said the return leg was filling up so I might just purchase the tickets in the next week. RT from LAX to SJO is $ 487 today, it was $ 100 higher three weeks ago.

I'm looking at the exact same flights. Going Aug 26th (on the non-stop) returning Sept 4th or 5th thru Guatemala. I expect that $548 to get down into the mid $400's also by mid-July.

I will keep an eye out and let you know also.

I am already a DISTANCIA member and I get their emails, but they don't email you when there is a short-term sale. They only email you with specials, which aren't usually all that good. (For example, the current summer sale has NY to CR for $531+taxes.) I'm waiting for one of those blitzkrieg sales that only lasts a few hours.
