Hey Guys;

Am heading down in late June for my 2nd trip. Am bringing a friend of mine on his maiden voyage. Just wondering if I could get some of you vets opinion. Last time stayed in the Del Rey and was thinking about he SL or Presidente. Wondering what you guys think or should I stay at Del Rey again and let my newbie experience the belly of the beast as I did

Thanks

SammyBoy: Is it a good friend? If so, give him his trip to adult disneyland. :wink: Look at his face when you walk into the Del Rey. Remember the Del Rey is a casino, sports bar and brothel all in one. He will be your friend for life. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Hey Sammy Boy!

Glad to hear that you're returning to C.R., and this time with a newbie wing-man.

I guess which hotel you pick depends upon your friend's needs and expectations. If it's just about hardcore poon immersion, then the HDR is the obvious choice. If your friend needs a bit more luxury, choose the Presidente, which is a block from the HDR. If your friend would be more comfortable in a frat house sort of atmosphere with chicas available during afternoons and evenings, you might try the SL.

Hope this helps,

Paul

Think the answer is very easy :lol: Did you enjoy staying at the HDR as a newbie :?: :D or did you regret your decision to stay there. :?: :(

:idea: :idea: Let your experience be the guide and assume your friend will react as you did.

Yea leading toward DR my newbie wingman will call him Easy Ed is not much on computers so has only read stuff I printed off and sent him and has never been out of U S so think it will really be something for him. Just wondering for my own knowledge if I stay at Presidente this trip or in future is it safe to walk from HDR to Presidente at nite. Also where are registered cabs at HDR seems like last time all cabs outside HDR were pirate and rates were high

I think you will find that the consensus of opinion here is going to be TAKE A TAXI.

If you have to take a pirate so be it. The cost is certainly less than being mugged. When you leave the BM walk a quarter of a block toward the Colonial Casino and you should be able to hail a passing legitimate metered taxi. When leaving the Presidente turn right go to the end of the pedestrian mall and you should find a non pirate cab there.

Thanks drifter havent been monitoring in a while so thanks for the heads up. Last trip during day had no prob walking to Presidente or to bakery near it for breakfast . Just remember the problem getting a metered cab at Del Rey at nite to go to SL or Machu Picu. Thanks for the heads up and look forward to buying you a drink sometime in the DR.

If you like to sleep in the morning, do not pick the Presidente. After late nights at 6:00 am you will here Hall, Street, construction noise. I found it impossible to sleep. Every thing else about the hotel was great. I well try some place else next time.
