I stayed at hotel Castillo 4 of 7 nights while in Costa Rica. The staff is friendly and goes the extra mile for customer service. The beds are very comfortable. Its very quiet at night which makes for good sleep. No chica fee but they do have to sign in. There is someone at the front desk 24/7. Computer with high speed internet free. Good coffee in the morning.

Did they offer a computer with high-speed, or just high-speed service if you have your own laptop? I am staying there soon and need access periodically, but would rather not bring my laptop. and how's the AC there? Did you need it? What kind of room was it? I think I am in a kitchen unit of some sort........thanks for the info! Much appreciated....

It's a free-standing workstation with high speed access. They claim to have wireless access coverage in most of the hotel; I don't know, never tried.

I've always found the AC to be fine.

The wireless access is pretty good. If you have issues, just go sit on the many couches available to get closer to the access point. For the AC, that is up to you and what you are used to. The nights are generally very nice.

I think the rooms in the original building dont have a/c but you probably wont need it. The newer rooms in the back have a/c but they face the sun most of the day. I was in room 8 the first night and it is a big nice room. I ask for it when I returned from the beach, but it wasnt available. They put me in 21, which is more like a standard hotel room.
