Post subject: | Bachelor Party Plan for 10 guys in July |
I finally convinced my friends that CR is a better alternative (and much cheaper) to Vegas and will be headed down with a group of 10 in July. Initially, they just wanted to rent a beach house, with a cook, for the entire 4-5 day trip in Jaco. As a veteran to CR, I've tried to convince them on two things: 1) The first and last night is a MUST in SJ. The long trip to Jaco is a pain on your entry and return to the airport. Also... the experience with chicas in SJ will be unforgettable to these guys. I'm targetting reserving a block of rooms, including the suite, at the SL for the first and last nights. I'm certain Bill will make this a bachelor party to top all bachelor parties. I believe I have them convinced on this one. 2) This leaves 2-3 nights in Jaco. They picked out a giant house, which I assume is in Los Suenos, that rents at $1,200 per night. I was like WTF!!!!! Nothing costs that much in CR. They should target $80 per head, per night at the most, during the green season. And, they are still not convinced that a beach house is a BAD idea. I think we should just rent a block of rooms in either the Copa, Tangeri or some other beach front hotels. I tried to explain several points to them: a) FUN AND ACTIVITIES: They will want to spend zero time in the house. So, housing is a waste of money. I also explained that the only time when I'm in my room is for sexo, showers and sleeping. They will want to explore Jaco... meet new people... maybe even drive to Manuel Antonio for a day. This is also best accomplished by staying in a hotel in the center of town. b) SAFETY: these guys will be partying hard. The hotel offers an element of security. Room safes, cedullas, etc. If we all get hammered and stay in a house, one of us will get robbed. c) LOCATION: a beach house will be off the beaten path. They will rely on taxis for everything. These guys don't speak a lick of spanish and will have a hard time explaining to taxis and chicas where we are staying. d) CHICAS: Since they speak no spanish, how comfortable are chicas going to be heading back to an unknown beach house with a bunch of drunken and rowdy gringos. They will be much more comfortable staying in a known hotel. Chicas will also probably want a premium in price, because it is off the beaten path. If something is stolen in the house, there is no protection. They are still not convinced. The problem is - they are completely new to CR and don't understand the situation. Being a veteran... I'm trying to coach them... but maybe I'm missing something - or - maybe I'm totally wrong. I'm just concerned about a group of drunken gringos spread-out around Jaco thinking that they are in something similar to Cancun. I guess my concern started with a gutt feeling (which is usually right) but I think I have some legit points. Do you veterans have any more information that might help add perspective??? Has anyone done the beach house thing??? Thanks! |

You are very right about the girls. A lot of them don't like to go back to someones house. Also, the girls in Jaco are a bit worse for stealing than in San Jose. If you do take the house, be very careful... Beach houses are big targets for theft. |

Chi_trekker, If you can't convince them there isn't much we can do. They think it's going to be a Frat party at Daytona Beach. It's not. I would agree with you that the hotel is a MUCH better idea. The will each have their own room with their own key and can be held responsible for what goes on in THEIR room. Guys (and girls) will be coming and going and like you mentioned the back and forth without speaking Spanish would be a nightmare. Less strain on all accounts and especially on YOU as I'm sure you'll be the one holding the bag if anything goes bad at the house. Just TELL them you're making the hotel reservations and if they don't like it let them figure it out for themselves. Some guys just don't know when they've got the best information and try to override it to their own peril. I avoid that type, but that's just me. Wit |

If nothing else, it should definitely be interesting! Chi, Let us know which direction you go on this, and after all the smoke clears, let us all know how it turned out! I agree with Witling. Get them separate rooms, and they can all use their individual credit cards to pay for the hotel room(s), bar tabs, dinners, etc...... It'll be less headaches on your end. If they think they know better than you, phuck 'em. Let them make their own reservations, and let the cards fall where they may. In the end, they'll regret not listening to you in the 1st place. You can lead a horse to water, but........... (you know the rest)! Good luck. MG ![]() |

Chi, My group of friends and I are in a somewhat similar boat as you. We are coming to CR for a bachelor party and spending 2 or 3 nights in SJ and then heading to Manuel Antonio for 3 nights. Not sure about your group, but the majority of our group is not really into the P4P action (although many of them will be hollerin once they see these hoooooeezzzz). Anyways, we plan on renting a house in Manuel Antonio. Me and a couple of my friends want to BYOB to MA. I mean, should we really be concerned that these girls would rob us and leave???? Devantay |

Chi....Tell them to fill up their bathtubs in a hotel in SJ and PRETEND they are at the beach. I don't think the Pres.will allow them to bring in sand (new regs.and all) but they won't know the difference once they are banging chicas and partying. Be a friend and INSIST that they skip Jaco for their first trip. The SL would be perfect and Bill will make sure all goes well. |
