Hey guys: I just punched in a tentative return to SJO using AA Advantage miles. Flying in from Green Bay on May 2 and returning May 16 would use 30,000 miles and cost me another $83 bucks. Should I use miles now and then assume flight prices will be lower for a paid ticket in July? A paid ticket right now would be $710.

right now, most of the deals listed are only good for travel before June 15th, but will change to mid summer travel in a couple of weeks (I hope)

Also just ran the same trip request thru Delta, where I also have miles. They wanted 70,000 miles for the same trip. I always liked AA better. Now I know why.

I just heard a report on the radio that the airlines may be starting to post mid to late summer fares starting this weekend.

Maybe we will see some low fares posted before the month's end.

but, I bet the cheap flights are booked quickly.
