HIGHLY recommend. Right on the beach. Nice comfortable apartment type rooms with kitchen. Good solid air-conditioning unit. Wireless internet on the premises, even in the breakfast area outside so you can watch the waves crashing, enjoy coffee and stay up to date with all the CRT happenings. Just down the road from the Monkey Bar and a 5 minute walk to the Beatle Bar. No problem with chicas. I think I paid $85 or $90 and that included breakfast. On my way back from Dominical (I stayed at Canciones on my way to Dominical) I decided to stop in Jaco for 1 night. Had no reservation and went back to Canciones but they were booked solid. They found me a room at Balcones del Mar and I looked at the room and that place is a DUMP!! Cheesy fleabag of a place that smelled like...well....you can guess. Kept driving around and found a room at Amapola--another dump but I was out of choices so I settled there for 1 night.

It's a nice looking hotel. I've never stayed but the location is ideal. I'm becoming more of a fan of Jaco. It's getting expensive and the beach is dark sand but it's becoming livlier. Daytime action can be found with less work than in the past. Lots of them kind of hanging out near Canciones Del Mar.
