If it exists, what exactly is the code of conduct? Is it something loose? - like keep our customers happy and we will keep you comfortable and happy. I have to believe that hanging at the SL is MUCH MORE comfortable than working at the shark tank (the DR). I also think they get discounts on their house tabs, which makes perfect sense.
Or, is it more formal? Hotel mgt routinely asks guys about performance and also routinely monitors this site for issues regarding performance, thievery and other related issues. If an issue is sited, mgt will take the girl aside and have a discussion. If a stealing incident is identified, mgt will send her out of the hotel on her ass, and she will be banned.
I believe the SJ mongering scene has a life of its own. In addition to us CRT members, there are various other stakeholders (e.g. business owners, the girls, other mongers, taxistas, touts and even the beggars) who "selfishly" compete in this arena. Each stakeholder maintains some degree of influence (some more than others) as to its economic direction and collective behavior. We always must keep in mind how we fit into the overall picture. To loosely paraphrase the economist, Adam Smith: “There is an ‘invisible hand’ that guides mongering in SJ.†For example, when CRT members tell a girl, “NO CIEN,†they are trying to hold the line on cost.
I happen to prefer SL and KL to other mongering venues in SJ because I feel most comfortable in these environments. IMHO, I believe the business owners AND clientele make these places the fine establishments that they are. When I have a specific issue with a place, I try to do a self-check before verbalizing my feelings to the owners…I may even throw it out to the forum for analysis and discussion by my peers. It is true, the business owners bear the lion’s share of responsibility for setting the tone, but we, the patrons, have a lot of influence, too! Where we choose to hang out, how we treat the staff and service providers, and what we are willing to pay for services rendered can dictate the relative success or failure of an establishment.
I, too, have noticed the “cross decking†of ladies among the BM, KL and SL…and their resulting changes in attitude and behavior. I have met sweet, lovely women at the SL and KL while enjoying a couple of drinks or a dance. When I see some of these same ladies again at the BM, they have morphed into, Cien-eating “fembots†that hardly resemble the sweet girls I remembered earlier in the evening. IMHO, they are only reacting to their environment of the moment…and setting their prices accordingly. Let us not forget the
real underlying motive for these women being in these establishments in the first place…just as we shouldn’t forget ours!
So, getting back to the original point of this thread…Yes, I believe every establishment has its own unwritten “Code of Conduct†that is not only set by the management, but the clientele as well.
