Who can answer this question, what is the price for a cab ride from the airport to hotel dey ray ? How long of a ride is it ? Or is there a better way to get there, I will not be renting a car, my friend will but he comes on a later flight.
Thanks.

I think you can find this info on the site if you search on airport.

When you walk out of customs you will walk down a very short brick wall walkway. When you clear the walkway look left and there will be a taxi stand (usually with two girls inside). They ask where you are going and then tell you the price. It's $12 US to the downtown hotels (Presidente, etc. It taks about 15 minutes.

I think it might vary depending on what hotel you are going to.

In the heart of the gulch Del Rey, Morazan, Presidente, etc it seems to be $12.00

A little north & east of the gulch SL, Castillo, Hemingway, etc the charge look like it is $13.00

I made 5 round trips this past weekend (by taxi), back and forth, from SJO to HDR. All 5 times.....$12 each way.

Unless it's changed recently (in the past 12 hours) it's still $12 !!!!

Those of you who saw me on Thursday, did I have "stupid gringo tourist" written on my forehead, why was I charged $13?

I gave him $12 exactly, he said it's now $13. But I was going to Sportsmens so maybe Irish Drifter is correct, extra $1 for hotels outside the gulch area.

Yesterday I took a taxi from the Best Western Downtown (Ave. 7 y Calle 6) to the airport.

I asked the K*D working the reception desk if the charge was still $12 and he called the taxi company to find out. Yes, it is still $12, at least from there.
