I applied Friday afternoon online. I received my conditional approval online on Monday morning. I have my interview tonight at JFK.

What kind of questions do they ask?

Received my GE card in the mail exactly 1 week after my interview. I was surprised to get it so quickly. Can't wait to use it next time I'm in the San Diego area.

Last weekend a CRT member who was crossing back from TJ was refused entry using the GE card. He was made to go back to the end of the line. It seems that they only accept Sentry at San Ysidro, and have a special line for Sentry, but it says nothing about GE. If that is indeed true, it would seem that GE is for air/sea entry. Maybe he can post in case I misunderstood what happened.

Also a head's up about the San Ysidro entry. They are rebuilding the entry and things are a phucked up. When we got to the border about 11 AM, on Sunday, the line was all the way back to the cul-d' sac (about an hour or two). The usual tout's were there charging $ 5.00 to take the bus (Mexicoach) across the border. This time it actually worked. They have a special bus lane now, and it took less than 15 minutes.

Health & happiness to all............

I have a Nexus card for frequent entry into Canada and am wondering if that's the equivalent of the GE card and useable at MIA upon returning from CR?

All NEXUS members can enjoy the benefits of Global Entry at no additional cost through using the automated kiosks for entry at participating airports. NEXUS members will need to check their status in their Global Online Enrollment System account, as they may need to submit their 10-fingerprints or any other necessary documentation in order to receive Global Entry benefits.

So after the interview, you have to wait for the card in the mail. I thought they gave you one on the spot.

With the NEXUS card I had an interview at the Montreal airport and about a week later my card arrived in the mail.

Orange: I got GE last year and renewed this past summer due to PP expiration. The interview is quick. Mainly, they take your photo and prints, will ask you why you travel as often as you do..in a really casual way. My interview at IAH took all of two minutes. Also, they didn't issue a card with GE, just a sticker on the back inside cover of your PP. I want to appy for Sentry so as to cross more quickly overland from MX.

Have a good trip.

I got my GE before they were giving out the card, so I paid the $15 for the card last month in case I went to TJ. I checked online and stopped by their MCO office to confirm that it would work in the Sentri lines for land travel. Unfortunately it seems that not all their employees know their own rules.

I'm in. My interview lasted about 8 minutes and half of that was him showing me how to use the kiosk. I can use it starting tomorrow. The card is only for land crossings in Canada and Mexico.

After your interview if all goes well you are good to go. It's your passport that allows you to use the GE Kiosks, not the GE card. You should receive your card in a week or so after the interview.

Would like to know if the GE card will work in the TJ Sentry line. My card says Global Entry on one side and Sentry on the other...

I applied online last Friday. Got conditional approval on Monday morning. Booked interview for Tuesday night. Received card today, Friday, 3 days after interview. Total from start to finish = 7 days.

Quick service. Very unusual for the gov't.

Applied last night, got conditional approval this afternoon. First appointment for in-person interview in Ft Lauderdale was March something. Checked Miami, got an appointment for Tuesday. :D
