I will be at the HLH this weekend. Safety is definitely a problem. If i don't pace myself properly I could seriously injure myself with an overdose of pleasure. But, have no fear ... I will not hold BK responsible for that too!

Jazz, I'm agreeing with you a lot lately    :) :)

For others reading this - In case you did not pick up on it ........

This thread is really not about "security" at HLH - other dynamics at work here - and since we are unlikely to get the "full story" - and you could make the case we are not so entitled - I'd leave it there, because more comments about how guys "feel safe" while staying there is really NOT what this thread is all about, and I have no inside knowledge except a little perception and common sense.

For the record, I really dislike airing an issue in public, then telling none of the story, or worse, leaving out huge parts - but that's their right - my vote is no one needs to fear for their safety while getting their nobs slobered over at HLH, and I'd just as soon leave it there. :)

It would have been nice if that happened but it did not. The fact is that very serious allegations have been made. Guns?

The only experience I have with Kelvin is seeing him at the bar and he gave me a ride to the airport last January. Nice enough fellow, we discussed numerous things during the drive including some of his side buisnesses.

I am arriving in SJO on monday and had planned on taking advantage of some of Kelvin's services on this trip. However, when I hear about guns I need to know more. Again, serious allegations and the type that I must know more FACTS before I feel comfortable.

So in the interest of laying any concerns I may have to rest please state the facts as they happened. Innuendo does nothing more than create more questions. I read this board often, and from the tone I read in the writting I take it many of you are experienced in the ways of buisness and understand questions are not good for buisness.

So you would prefer your driver/guide/security to be unarmed?

Xpatriot:

If you're remotely concerned that you "...could seriously injure (yourself)....." I bet you're going in seriously armed, eh!!?!

Sometimes one "gun" is all a guy needs!, yes?! :D

Steven1, Ya I'll be packing a fully loaded pistol ... but after a couple of quick shots which unfortunately can't be avoided at the HLH ... it seems my ammo starts to become faulty. Dangerous place, that HLH! :)

I vowed not to post here anymore but this is a serious topic and I felt I needed to put my 2 cents in. I am at the HLH now and everything at least to me is cool. Boyd has been friendly and gracious to me as always and as usual. Last night, while checking in one of my favoritas with Kelvin at the desk, Kelvin was very friendly and shook my hand as we know each other from the past. So I don't see any problems from my own personal view.

No, you would not because it has nothing to do with you (or me for that matter) nor does it really have anything to do with HLH security.......

Read my previous post - then read it again (you don't want to read mine, read Jazzbo's) - this whole thread has zero to do with HLH security issues and the consistant "I'm at/visiting/staying/drinking/sucking cunt/phucking at HLH and I don't feel unsafe and Boyd and Kelvin are great guys (and they are :) ) " is tiresome, albet true :) and again, not the theme of what's going on. Am I (and Jazz, I guess) the only ones that can read between the lines :?:  :?:

And unless some parties want to disclose the full story of what's behind this thread as well as another one dealing with this same issue, I guess we are going to have to put up with more of the "I feel safe" posts that have nothing to do with the topic at hand

Read OP's version on the other board if it's still there. Started out with a beef about cubanos OP sold/shipped to NY for unknown amt, buyer rec'd and said they weren't real and money back please, seller said he got them from factory in Cuba. Buyer inferably "retains" HLH guy to collect, who then calls OP w/ veiled threat, also sees OP on the street and flashes heat. I think that's a fair summary but read it yourself.

So if this is a fair summary, it doesn't have anything to do with HLH other than arguably having a security guy doing "collection work" on the side and the collectee was a known patron of HLH, all based on the premise of which version is credible.

Heloooooooooooo - that's what some of us with a clue have been saying for ages now
Yet we have to wade through the "I don't feel unsafe" posts   :P :P

Fair or unfair - and I suspect you are pretty correct :) what we all can agree on is it has nothing to do with "security" at HLH - just sick of reading the posts and even if you had no knowledge of what was posted, could you not tell that there were other dynamics present

Don't know the "other board" you are refering to but it just might have been a good idea for the OP to post a version on this board - then we would have perhaps been spared the "I feel safe" posts and if you start a thread, don't leave out huge parts

I heard a story along the lines of what you posted; as I was not involved, did not think it was my place to post hearsay (novel idea for a message board and the internet, huh :?:     ) Now that its been published - although it should be here too - it does not matter.

(Besides the mis use of the word "Tica" I'm also on a tear lately about guys who post, especially those looking for info and assistance - then leave out a ton of info - this situation was a little different but still think ******* could have done a far better job of laying out his "case" - even Admin1 was confused - his right to say what he waned to disclose, but if you are going to start a thread, disclose the full story)

We can all agree HLH is "safe" - we also can stipulate that the thread had zero to do w/ HLH security.

I simply want to know when is the gunfight gonna take place? I wanna get the bestest, safest spot to watch the dying.....; that can be a tricky thing, ya know?: Ya got ricochet to deal with; poor shooting altogether to deal with; misfirings; a guy going postal after he gets that taste; other people deciding to join in just for the fun of it; , etc., etc., etc. Finding the right place to watch a shootout on the street is serious bidness..... Heck! What if it takes place inside? :?:  :P

We can ll gree HLH is "safe" - we also can stipulate that the thread had zero to do w/ HLH security.

Scuba, I think you both are missing the point

This is about a "he said / he said" situation spilling over from the original thread.

Here are the facts: a CRTer accused a member of HLH's staff - and by extension Boyd -- of something.
Something unsavory. And he has implied - no, AFFIRMED - HLH harbors employees who engage in unsavory practices.

It is an allegation which as far as I know so far has no proof, only allegations from one person.

It is said that a lie repeated often enough can morph into the 'truth'. How else can one explain the birth of a thread about HLH security?

Because of that, people seem to have taken exception to the allegations.
People are chiming in here giving their opinion to demonstrate support for the accused parties.

By doing so they are countering the allegations and innuendo. That is the reason for the many "I feel safe" posts. These sort of allegations can be incredibly damaging to a hospitality business, and the "I feel safe" posters are doing their bit to present HLH in a different light.

Character assassination is best combated by character references.

Mh

P.S. By the way... You are clueless. :)
