weed those bitches out bill.

We have cameras, they worked. We have the whole event saved on our computer.

Are there any consequences for the security guard, other than being fired? It is CR afterall, so I don't expect there would be any.

He has NOT been arrested yet, only fired to this point. He was our newest Guard. (9-days at SL)

Out them with a webcast of your security video. I'm sure you can find someone to blurr the faces of those people in it that don;t want to be made public, while letting everyone here know who the perps are.

Sorry to read about this incident. I am staying at the SL for my next trip Labor Day weekend and know that it is as safe as it can possibly be based upon my observations from 9 previous trips. I have always stayed at the SL. My one concern is the content of the computers which were stolen and whether customers' credit card information were contained on any harddrives which were taken. I usually pay cash but give my credit card info to secure the reservation as is required. Should we cancel any cards we used to secure reservations or make purchases? Bill, your input would be much appreciated. Bunda.

To be completely honest I think "I would cancel the cards used here and re-apply for new card numbers". I can not guarantee that these guys could not retrieve information off the three computers they took. In an abundance of caution apply for new cards used here at SL for at least the past 12 months. These would be the cards used to guarantee reservations only, not cards used for sales transactions at the front desk or bar & restaurant.

Bill, I am requesting a TSA style pat down with a happy ending by one or two of the ladies every time that I enter or exit the SL. :D

I'm seeing that. Last night at the Sportsman, I counted no less then 13 cops walk down the road behind the patio in the back room of the bar. Looked like a soccer team going by, lol. It's great seeing them out in force, but it would be better to have that many on the streets at 2am as well -and not just at 9pm

That observation has been posted here a few times and I as remember the explanation is that the local precinct station is located very close to the SL and what you observed was most likely officers headed out to man their post during shift change.

Ya I want to know about the computer information that is more valuable than the cash in the right hands. And from what I can make of the account given here it seems they specificly targeted the computers. I am womdering if I should cancel my card also. 8)

And what exactly what were the other three (armed)guards doing during all this? Its not like the place takes up a lot of area. Sure the new guy gets fired but not arrested. The obvious choice right but it could be he was just the fall guy because he was new. And if this was planned out as an inside job targeting a coulple clunky oid computers you think they had somebody lined up to crack them or better yet the passwords. An inside job and one of four is in on it and the thieves were not confronted. You don't think that the inside guy had a rough estimate of how much cash would be available and would it be worth the risk to confront three (armed) guards. What do the guards do all night sleep in shifts. This account smells like shit. It seems there is alot more to this caper than is being told. Management should be contacting all the people who stayed there not just posting on CRT.WTF 8)

Amazing! Just how many CSI episodes have you watched to give you the incredible ability to solve this crime from 2,000 miles away?

Thanks!

Mugsy,

Not sure if you know Bill or not. He is a straight shooter and I am confident his account is his best view of what happened. Just as in the states it is hard to expect security guards who make low wages to stop an organized armed group of pros. Nobody got hurt and I am sure Bill is looking for ways to further improve the security.
