I disagree. 25k miles to make silver is not that easy if you rarely fly or for those that fly with the cheapest airline when booking online.

Having this program with the occasional 2x elite bonus it'll will benefit those that are existing frequent fliers of continental to reach the extra tier. silver to gold or gold to platinum. It will also encourage those that never made status to fly to reach the silver elite status.

I dont see anything wrong with this.

That's my point. If you rarely fly or aren't loyal to one airline, why should you have special privileges through their loyalty program?
