while we are raving about the sportsmen lodge, did i mention that i asked bill if the hotel had an iron i could borrow and he said just give whatever u need ironed to the girls and theyd take care of it.....i left for 45 minutes and came back and all my shirts were already pressed and hanging back up in my closet. u would be a fool not to give them a try....i know it is getting redundant, but the sportsmans lodge(and i spell it differently everytime i type it i know) is the best deal in town. keep on doing what ur doin bill cuz its working bro!!

Yea. Raving about the SL just never ends. I forgot to mention in my abbreviated review that I caught a cold the last week I was in CR (rain forest + rain + no rain coat + air conditioned tour bus = wicked cold). After the first night of sneezing and going through a full roll of toilet paper, I happened to run into Maria the next day. She was heading toward my room with a new box of tissues in hand. She stopped, turned to me, and pointed her finger to her head, as if trying to say: "Got a cold, do you? You obviously need more tissues." Geez! I don't know if ESP is a required attribute for people who work at the SL but it appears that just about everyone who works there has it. :D

Hi Ticafan!

I'm typing this on my laptop laying on the bed in "Paz". The room is not too small - there's a double bed, TV, a nightstand, a small dresser, and a chair. You couldn't play hockey in here, but it's okay. Hey, it's a $50/night hotel room - I've been in worse and paid more. Also, you can't beat the service or the company available just steps from your front door.

I just got back from the Del Rey/KL. Unphuckin' believable.

Trip report in the works.....

Could anyone tell me if the rooms have or will have in the near future a small bar fridge ? Also I think Bill can restrct any girl from the SL bar as it`s private property.

How many screens do they have at the bar? Does it have a satelite feed? Need a place to watch NCAA hoops this winter.

I do not think Bill has plans to put in mini-fridges at this time. It would be an excellent addition to the Sportsmens.

They have 3-4 screens in the bar and another 4 larger screens out in the courtyard lounge area. Yes, Bill does have satellite feed, and I do believe it is from multiple satellites. You will be able to watch your hoop games there, also there is satellite feed to all the rooms with porn channels.

As they always say - nothing in life is perfect, and Sportsmen's this past weekend had the usual plumbing issues, lack of light in the room, noise at all hours, etc. But what can I say - I still love the place, and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

I did try a single night at the Castillo this time around, and though it wasn't a bad option for the money, it just didn't have the same warm feeling as my "home away from home". Also took another tour of the new wing now nearing completion, and trust me on this - you WILL want to stay there. The Penthouse Suite there will definitely give the Master Suite at the Pres a run for it's money as the ultimate party pad in San Jose.
