I was thrilled to find and book a R/T ticket from LAS to SJO in August on AeroMexico late last night for $379 (including $16 travel insurance). I had looked at all options for two weeks and most were $578 to over $1000!
I also saw that Avianca was at the high end of the price range . United was lowest, at $488, but the flight times were not a good match. I think anything under $400 R/T is a good deal these days, at least until the new routes open up in the fall.

Booked a flight last night at $406 on avianca for August
Looking toward the rest of the year it appears that prices are going to hold and hopefully continue to drop w the new carriers getting into the LAX/SJO route

I just priced a flight on Delta LAX - SJO Nonstop in the low $400's. Travel must be completed by December 16 and better yet the business class fare is only around $750. Early December has always been one of my favorite times of the year to travel there. The mood is happy and the girls are "motivated" so they can earn their Christmas shopping $$.
