I tried to book a room in mid April.

Here was Darren's email reply.

Thanks for your email. I don’t think we will be open by this date but you
could reserve a room at the Amistad for these nights. You can call toll
free at 877 260 3027 or email info@hotelamistad.com. Please let me know
if you have any questions and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

You can email him at:

HOTEL CASTILLO <hotelcastillo@racsa.co.cr>

You're talking about what? Plastic surgery? Or did you mean Tico?

I don't care whenever they open it because when they do, it will be right b/c that is their way. Matt, put me down for opening weekend, I'm in.

The nature of construction is most often not right on schedule, even in Gringo time.

Send it to Amistad. That's where he is working and he will get it or someone there will.

You can contact Darren at Info@hotelamistad.com. We have new email address for the Castillo but are not using them until the hotel opens. Hopefully a couple months.

I'm most glad Darren was retained. He's a good man and, as far as I know, an effective manager.

Does anyone happen to know if Danny is still working at Castillo?

As of last month, Danny was working at the Amistad, pretty much the same as he was at the Castillo - sometimes late night front desk, other times general maintenance during the day.

I don't know about the "crew". The only ones I saw at the Amistad were Darren and Danny. Maybe the rest are working behind the scene. I think the latest projected re-opening of the Castillo is coming soon.

Thanks for the update GoodDayJohn. Great to hear that Danny and Darren are still on the ground.

I hope Castillo doesn't lose any of its character during the remodel. It's probably inevitable. But one can hope. Looking forward to heading back soon.
