....the thing about that phucking horn is that it is not only loud, but the whole room shakes. Reminded me of an old Honeymooner's episode.

Call me crazy, but have gotten so I kind of like the horns and the shaking and the clack of high heeled shoes. It's the idiots that have to yell in the hallways and hold loud cretin conversations that still bother me.

For Steven 1, planning a trip in September, arrive on a Sunday - leave on a Thursday. Your discount caught my attention. Knowing its several months away but are u considering some sort of similar discount for September, and if so should I contact the hotel directly or will the hotel make an announcement? Planning to make the plane booking in 2nd half of July (and hotel book shortly after), ur June discount peeked my attention. If a 35% discount for Sep is in play, would be interested in a suite (never booked a suite before). Just a curious monger.

La Amistad is my hotel of choice whenever I'm in San Jose. The train doesn't bother me but the fact that they do add 4% to your bill if you pay with a credit card does! :?

I have lost count the number of times I stayed at the Amistad. I never once had a problem with the noise. I am pretty sure that I have had a room on every hallway and was never disappointed. It was always good to see Matt, Carlos, Rudy and Marlena they will treat you very well. I definitely recommend.

4% is a lot less than the mansion in MDE adds for using a cc, they charge 25%!

Actually the fee to use a credit card at the LA is 6%. The exchange rate last week was 499-1, they
converted their cc payments at 529-1, a 6% difference. My bill for the 7 days was $409usd,
after paying with the cc the total charged to my card was $432usd, a 6% difference.

The only benefit for me was not having to pack that much cash, & the 864 miles I earned on
my United cc.
