I was referring to the Hotel Morazan. All you said about Del Rey is true,I stayed there my first 5 trips to CR. Been to CR 22 times. Hotel Morazan is right next to Key Largo.

Ahh, my mistake. I've never stayed at the Morazan.

I have stayed at Morazon twice, not recently. You are right, rooms are not beautiful, but you cannot beat the location. I found it actually quite quiet at night. If you are a hard partier, KL and HDR, Morazon is a great option. I have spoken ill of the place on this forum before, but it is hard to beat the location, and it's not a bad hotel really.

Sounds like you have become acclimated to San Jose :D

I have stayed there several times and I paid for Jr Suite on the fifth floor. It's not quiet at night and occasionallly hear gun shots and fights out front. the first floor is extremely smokey late at night in the casino on the first floor. Once there was no water for 28 hours. It has always taken me 3 trips to the front desk to get a TV remote that works. The elevator does not always work and I worry that at some point I'm gonna get stuck in it and I am claustofobic(sp). I wish the safes were electronic instead of key. After many trips and I always bring enought cash for the entire trip electronic safes are much preferrred, All this being said I always had a great time at the Morazon because of its location and have never had anything taken from my room However I stay there because I can't get a room at the SL, LA,DI or HLH.

I stayed at LA for several days last year. My room was on the 2nd floor looking over the courtyard. I never heard the train. The hotel itself was pretty nice, and the room was OK, but the bed was terrible and I was so uncomfortable I had trouble staying asleep.

I stayed at the DI a couple of times before the whole Boyd thing blew up, and enjoyed the hotel and the rooms.

I love the place, have stayed there many times, but to give a direct answer - no, not really quiet.

It has the problem of many places in the area whereby you hear traffic noise, and a lot of car alarms, motorcycles, et al - I don't think any place in the central downtown area is really what we would call quiet -

Sleep Inn is, especially 3rd fl facing Colonial, been there 8 times now, don't hear anything, not cars, horns, busses, alarms, what have you. I think because it is new construction, better windows, and set off the street half a block. Just hate paying $35 per chica. Holdiay Inn is also, higher floors, but chica fee there equals the same as no chica's allowed.

I have wanted to try Sleep Inn after being shown the rooms last visit, but just don't want to pay the Chica fee. Nice place though. Yesterday I looked up the old posts on Morazan. Most were pretty accurate. Great location, average rooms,Ricardo is a fat piece of crap. Anyway, I will be at Morazan Jan. 14 thru the 20th. Have scouted out about half the standard room and found 4 I like (would recommend this because some rooms are better than others here). Can't wait.

I agree - the fee - which is why I did not recommend either place :)

Charging a $35 - or in the case of the Holiday Inn, what, like $70  - tells me they don't really want my business, and there are plenty of places that do.

Top 3 questions from a chica are:

1) What is your name?
2) Where are you from?
3) Where are you staying?

They only care about number 3. Where your staying will tell them if they are going to continue trying to get you to take them. Just answer El Presidente to a fugly and you are in the clear. They will politely leave FAST! ... usually

But beware of the network. If she is connected she will spread the word and some good prospects may be lost. They will out price themselves just to be polite and exit.

Maybe not on topic, but I had kind of a weird visit to the SL last night. Wandered in around 9 and had a few beers while watching the end of that college game. Now, I am definitely not an expert on the place, but the chicas just seemed "off" to me. Some nice ones around, but for two hours, only one chica even approached me, and i swear, there were at least 10 of them that did nothing but sit, smoke and text constantly on their phones. Seemed almost like an MP, lol. Probably just because the game was on but I eventually left and walked down to KL where I hooked up with a nice PSE.

Here's my dos colones on the hotel scene in San Jose. The DR is kind of gross, too much sex for me to want to sleep in that bed. the Dunn Inn is great, nice food, cheaper parking at 3,000 colones for the night in a secure lot that they control but a bit inconvenient being on the side street by the HLH and trannys. At the Dunn Inn the newly renovated rooms are stellar but I always am a bit worried about the place being a fire trap, old wooden building, not really good evacuation routes. That said, the manager Guy is great, they have condoms in the rooms, ear plugs for light sleepers, a mini bar and nice beds and TV's. I like the "Canvas" room as one of the cheaper ones. Wireless internet works good and free breakfast and CRT discount.

La Amistad is in a great location but the ir parking situation isn't great. You park in a lot across the train tracks and pay each time in and out. The hotel reimburses you some of the fees at check out but that's a bit of a pain in the ass and makes me feel cheap but the fee overnight is 900 colones per hour, pretty steep for parking. The train is a drag and really does shake the entire building. some of thier rooms on the third floor are quite a walk up. the penthouse room is cool but the bed is on a platform with a spiral staircase and you have to come down it at night when you have to pee. The bar is great and you can learn a lot about mongering in San Jose.

The Morazon rooms are small but really convenient to everything. They are a bit smokey and the showers aren't great either. I have never booked overnight there, just a few hours for that occasional quicky out of the DR that I did not want to take to Asia. If anyone knows the chica policy at the Morazon in terms of multiple girls and multiple entries, please enlighten us.

One of my favorites in town is Casa Conde. It is located just across the circulavacion next to Parque de la Paz in Desamparados. There's a bunch of flags on the front as you drive past on the ring road. The rooms are suites, 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, washer dryer, stereo, secure entrance and 5 buildings inside a courtyard, 2 story. The breakfast is included with omelet station and waffles as well as eggs, fruit etc. It has a gym and outdoor heated jacuzzis as well as a nice but small pool. They will let you bring the first girl in without charge (I sometimes can get by the gate gaurd and drive past the office and not pay for chicas) but they want 15,000 colones for the next one. Multiples cost 15k each but the hotel is impressive and close by if you want to stay in a nice place, need to wash your clothes or cook for your crazy diet or veganism. My wife in the states is a vegetarian but I am a Vagatarian.... I spend more time in SJO than most so ping me if you have questions. I like Margaritas and Pantera Rosa for fishing out good girls for later. I also like the dives like VIPs, Krysis and Lipstick.
