You will like the Castillo. I usually left the maids 500 - 1500 colones a day and they made sure to get my room as soon as I left and always got extra towels. The chicas like extra towels.

I like the standard rooms in the original house. There are a few that don't have a window to the outside and three of them are right off of the downstairs "living room" area but the ones upstairs with a window are great and very good value for the money. I've stayed in the deluxe rooms out back a couple of times and NEVER turned on the AC!

any brothers have information on these 2 hotels. i'm looking for something a little more
upscale. Do these hotels have tica fees and if so how much ?

Chica fee at Sleep Inn is 25.00 per girl!

I've stayed in rooms #20, #21, #22 and #23. They are all on the upper level in the rear section; all pretty much the same, though #23 is an end room with more windows. Great view from up there....you'll like it. I always stay at the Castillo.

I'm going to walk over there and check this place out. Sounds like a nice option.

Also if the Castillo still has that Sunday BBQ going on, it's a good place to munch, knock back a few and watch whatever game (big pull-down screen).

I always stay at the Castillo and I just call them to book the room. Easier than email.
