Emirates uses A380 on a few different routes.

Dubai - Sydney

It seats about 490.

Check out First Class: http://www.emirates.com/ng/English/flyi ... uites.aspx

I recently flew the A380 from Dubai to Sydney in business. It is awesome!! :P The electric seats lay down flat and they give you a nice mattress that covers the whole thing. The best part is the bar area where you can go have a drink, a snack, and chat with other folks- if that is your thing. The seating is staggered such that, no matter where you are, you can get up without disturbing anyone else.

It sucks. Boarding and de-boarding takes forever. Baggage situation sucks. Think of what it's like to fly on a 747 but worse.

The embarkation/ debarkation problems to the contrary (the baggage problems will be solved in time), this seems a deliberate return to what De luxe intercontinental travel was like in the 30's and then in the 50's-60's--and I'll bet with inflation factored in the prices are about the same. If you've got it, flaunt it. The ability to move nearly all the NBA at one time: priceless.
But yes if one is brought down by, say, one of the thousands of Stinger missiles loose in the world (ex Afghanistan in the 80's), that could be a bit of a PR issue. Still and all--put me in, Coach--I'm ready!

Question: Every seat on the plane has the nice lay down camas (beds)?? That would be awesome if even us lowly coach classers get a full lay down bed. Next thing you know we'll get onboard BBBJ service too if true laydown beds for all! :D :D :D

The 380 is an amazing thing to see up close. I had the luck to see several at Singapore’s Changi Airport on my last Thailand trip. They are simply HUGE!!!

SIN’s new terminal 3 was built with the 380 in mind; each 380 gate has 2 air bridges serving 4 doors on the plane and a mega boarding area with 8 boarding stations. There are several of these gates at terminal 3. They boarded a 380 flight to SYD faster than our 777-300ER flight to SFO…

On SQ’s planes the coach class seats on the 380 are the same as the new 777-300ER… very comfortable, with amazing entertainment systems (AVOD), power ports for laptops and USB ports to keep ipods charged.

Look at “the experience” tab at the top of the page to get a look at the cabins of the different classes.

Yes, Brothers you too can book a roundtrip flight (Singapore-LAX) on this magnificent beast in a suite for the low, low price of $9700. At this price, whatthehell, bring a friend.

Brother Srilm--Best add a whole bunch of + to your Emirates estimate. Same flight in First Class is $18886 (best price--most are over $21K). By way of comparison, I paid $10K for my trailer, er, "mobile home". Also does Emirates' version come with those cozy private cabins? And does the harem fly in coach (except the evening's favorite of course)?
I guess the "Age of Grandiose Excess" hasn't ended , has it?
