It seems to be more of an "if you're downtown" kinda thing rather than the hotel. In other words, "guilt by association or in this case, proximity:?: " And this comes from more than 1 of the upper class Ticos, both young and old. Many in that upper echelon want nothing to do with the downtown scene. Now, are they getting some strange themselves???? Men are men and the women there are too spicy so I imagine somewhere they are.

if you live down there, you could probably get some strange without going after putas without any issue...

The Europa has a pool and is located downtown San Jose. No chica fee.

The Best Western downtown has a pool.

The Casa Conde has a pool. The rooms are actually more like an apartment with two bedrooms, full kitchen, washer / dryer area, and living room area. They are CRT sponsors and offer a discount from $120 down to $80 for VIP memebers. There is a $20 chica fee for non registered guests. The hotel is in a nice area near des emparados

The costa rica tenis club has two pools and is located near la sabana.

Apartotel La Sabana has a pool.

There is also a water park in San Jose between the airport and downtown in the caliari area.
