No not that important just thought it was THEMAN so please forgive me if I was mistaken, besides just what does your spiteful angry post contribute to the board? If you have some personal problem with me I'm not hard to find,

I have very little interest in 'finding" you Paco. I prefer to associate with those those who add more to the board then homophobic barbs or endless emoticons.

In my opinion, that is what has caused people to become turned off of this board. You and others have turned it into a constant stream of mindless drivel rather then a useful vessel of information.

I don't think the removal of the crt discount is to make us pay more, how much more plain can it get ,they don't want our bussiness. I see no reason to go there anymore, the other options are as good or better. Even the food at news cafe sucks now, Balmoral resturant is much better with better street view. I for one will never darken their doors again. Hopefully more members feel the same.

So I was right ID about The Man not being the one that originally posted but of course never expect you to admit a wrong. I am a little surprised however that my number has come up again already to be on the recieving end of your BS and flames. Looks like the majority of joking around stays in the smack section so maybe stay out of there if it bothers you so much to see anyone else having a laugh. Wish I had more time to engage in your hypocritical self righteous anger but you'll have to find another target to attack and attempt to run off the site, I'm currently too busy having fun and enjoying life, :D perhaps you could try it sometime.

ID & PL:

Up to this point, I've avoided getting caught up in any of the petty squabbles on this board...let alone placing myself in the cross-fire of two CRT titans and posters laureate. I always figure Admin1 will jump in and cool things down a bit when things get too hot...or the pugilistic parties in question will drop their boxing gloves and settle things via PM like gentlemen.

I'm surprised at both of you. :!: I've always respected your information and opinions. Both of you are the top 1% when it comes to posting QUANTITY and QUALITY. Please gentlemen...knock it off!

Very respectfully,

I hate to be the one to Hijack this thread, but could any one recommend a good taxi, the nicest beaches, the best restaurants and which chica they think is the prettiest.

No more CRT discounts at the Presidente. I was told at the desk that after December 31, 2008 there will be no more discounts.

The handwriting has been on the wall for quite sometime. I don't think that many members are surprised that they finally made the change. The new question is when will they institute a chica fee?

The chica fee will be the notification we're not welcome there, I got the impression the management was trying to change their targeted clientel in August. Lets poop on those who made us successful.
But who knows, Americas' poor economy is affecting the worlds economy, the tourist, C.R., industry can't count on the Canadians and Europeans to keep the money flowing in.
We use to stay at the Balmoral in the early 90s, boy they were rude and plus a chica fee.

There's seven friends going down this week everyone is staying at the S.L.
several thousand $$ being spent at the hotel.
I guess the some hotels would rather have empty rooms then deal with us.

There has been ample recognition in the English and Spanish press that the world wide economic downturn is damaging the tourism trade here. Two of my friends are coming down and they both have rooms at the Presidente.

They are not CRT members because they hadn’t heard about it. I advised them to go online and check it out.

They received a very good price by calling the hotel and doing a little bargaining. They made their reservations before they called me to tell me they were coming and when they explained the price they were paying it seemed very reasonable so encouraged them to stick with their reservation.

Otherwise I would have recommended SL, Clarion, Dunn Inn or one of the boutique hotels near the SL.

Perhaps the money issued became paramount at the Presidente( for the Presd), I personally like staying there because of its central location.
I"ve been to the S.L. but never stayed there, my friends tell me it can get noisey at night. I hope the Presd doesn't change its direction, but from what I've seen it certainly appeares they wish to change their clientel and appeal to families and eco tourist.

I think that there are not enough interesting sites in downtown San Jose to sustain mainstream family and or eco-tourism. The beaches, rain forests, etc are what people think of when they think tropical paradise; not crime ridden streets full of beggars, litter and over prices trinkets.

On the other hand, mongers are more concerned about staying downtown for the other recreational activities which are concentrated nearby. Seems to be wiser to focus on what works than what is a pipe dream and doesn’t match the goals of the client base.

We'll see as time passes.
