3 trips to CR.. 16 different shuttles.. They were late once, but they called me the night before and told me that they were going to be late. Had problems with the website last time around, but i emailed my itinerary to them and was confirmed the next day. Wouldnt think of using anyone else while in CR.

Oh grand! I've located an alternative way to pay Interbus and it's even $1.00 less: $6.00 each way! You can pay via PayPal or a secured server.

http://www.shuttlebus.co.cr/

I expect, however, that the proof shall be in the pudding....and this is a chance I'll take....will report back after the fact if all went well.

If it works that's awesome. This should eliminate the need to book 4 days in advance since they don't need to verify your signature on the credit card. Also, for those who are concerned about giving their credit card numbers to IB, this is a way around that.

Excellent find ,Steven1. I go to Jaco so looked up the fare. Not only is it a bit cheaper than Interbus, it leaves later. I like their payment model also. Though as you allude, "The proof of the pudding is in the eating." I don't gild lillies either.

I am working with them, Jazz.....

By the way....do you partake of the music at the Key Largo? I most certainly do and find it always VERY good. While I once upon a time was a player ('73 Telecaster Deluxe; '69 Telecaster Thinline; '66 Fender Twin Reverb).....Homey don't play dat no mo.....BUT the music at the Key Largo as long as it is NOT reggae is usually fabulous....and BEATS the CIEN bull butter big time. Had many a little woman spend time and go home with me following good music at the Key Largo (Good Morning little School Girl!!!)

Anyway....this newly found outfit has sent me yet another email following my request for data. here we have an edited version:

"We have indeed received confirmation of your payment through PayPal.
We are currently waiting for confirmation from Interbus regarding space for your two services.

"We will be back soon with the final confirmation of your reservation, which you will print and show it to Interbus' representative at your arrival at the airport."

I have sufficient data to believe the company is reputable.

The owner of http://www.shuttlebus.co.cr/ now resides in the USA and noted in his email to me:

"I was Interbus' CIO for 5 years. I personally know the owners whom I consider them dearest friends. I witnessed Interbus starting as a company about 12 years ago and I still maintain friendly communication and business with them.

In addition, during the period 2001-2006 I designed, implemented, and
deployed Interbus' reservations system and online presence. I discontinued IT support to them in 2006 when I resigned to start my own IT consulting business. Now I live in (name of location removed)....for a little over a year where we plan to stay for good."

I like his personal attention.....we'll see just what problems might occur upon my arrival Sept. 3, 2008!!!

Harpo:

Can you please share which booking service you used? For $12.00 it would seem you used the http://www.shuttlebus.co.cr/ booking service, no?

Thanks

thanks for the posting.
I found the site (SearchCostaRica.com) simple and painless: $12 for 2 to Amistad. My other 16 trips I paid $20 for a taxi.

Excellent. http://www.searchcostarica.com seems to really work ! A bargain to be had.....and he goes all over the country using the services of InterBus.....

Another advantage to this service which can be paid via PayPal is that one is dealing with ONE PERSON.....the ex-CIO of InterBus.....and because one is dealing with only one person....there is little room for error.

Also, all, please bear in mind that this service provides transports all over Costa Rica......check out the website

Crossing my fingers that it works just the same for me....I am confident it shall....

Another resource for those of us who dont' simply throw money at situations and think same controls the process.....most of the time it DO NOT!!

Pura Vida.....

steven

P.S.: and, my brother, Corcovado, that was$20+ EACH way.......as oppossed to the $12 RT!

This is a good find ! Just booked on line no problems. Prices are cheaper then interbus's web site! Not just for airport pick up but for other destinations as well.

You have to wonder how can Interbus pay them a commission and they still are only 6.00, cheaper than booking directly through Interbus site?

Anyway Interbus stood me up for the 1st time, things worked better the 3 times I never got email confirmations. Good news is I was going to get a cab and saw Interbus pulling up to pick up a group so I went and talked to the driver, he called the office and they couldn't find me even though I had a conf. # and finally told me to hop in and he'd drop me off downtown. Not sure if I'll get charged or not. :?
