Amistad meets those requirements, and if you're staying a week, you get an additional 10% discount on top of your 10% CRTVIP.

Nice hotel too.

LA AMISTAD, CASTILLO and SL ( if you get the small rooms with CRT discount) meets most of the requirements. but, local call are cheap.

The last time I stayed at the Amistad I saw a work in progress. It would be great to know the masterpiece that I saw under development is now available :-)

Elroy,

Does the Europa offer free local phone calls and Internet? Also, the last time I checked rates there, the least expensive room I was quoted was $70.00 plus 16.39% hotel tax...which would be well above Mr. Boring's stated price point of $60.00/night. :?:

What did you pay per night? Lockbox in room?

TIA! :D

They offer all of the above including pool at your price point.

Here is the honest to God truth on my Memorial Day Last minute stay at the Europa. I arrived around 8 on Friday Night semi tanked. No reservations, but I was met at the airport by the Nica Sandwiche. All systems go.

Hit the Europa, Friday - Monday Memorial Day weekend, $50 including taxes and gratuity per night. When I closed my tab, I signed off on $150.00. That is what they charged my account two days later confirmed.

They tried to hit me up for an extra $25.00 for late check out. My flight was at 5:05 and I hung out with The Sandwiche. I contested the charge and was credited.

I paid an extra $15 to the maids ($5.00 day) for extra towels and scheduling to my timetable.

Security $2.00 per night. $2.00 to the waite staff in the restaurant.

$100.00 on the credit card for room service and local call authorization. Hit me for $19.00 which was cool as we ate in one night.

I have enjoyed many interesting venues in CR as far as accomodations go. I have neglected to make a reservation in advance. I do check availabiltiy a week, 5, and 3 in advance with back n forth emails to about a half dozen places.

Trying different places is fun. Then again I have stayed at the DR and never left the boat, except to hunt for mangos...instead, I found a tiger.

The rates advertised v. collected seem to eb and flow with occupancy.

The posted rate for in-room lock box was $3.00 per day. It was a no charge.

Internet, not sure about wireless, but they have two or three PC's on-line in the lobby and there are a bunch of cafe's near by.

On Sunday afternoon, I took slices of cake to the wait staff and maids from my Happy Birthday Party in room, no visitor charge. That night, the bar staff poured tequila shots on the house. There was me and the 3 Bartendars.

Monday AM, cannon balls in the pool to jump start the vital functions.

I stayed there two weeks ago, included breakfast eggs to order & buffet, swam laps, full room service, great lobby staff, inside (noise free) room with balcony overlooking the pool. No chica fee. Multiple guests were no problem. Two bars. Lots of ecotourists, locals, and friends of ours with friends of theirs.

I am going to stay at the Europa www.hoteleuropacr.com (i think & if not just Goolgle it) again in a few weeks or at Casa Conde...

Also had a very good stay at Europa last year. It may be a little further then some of the other more talked about places, but it is not far from the action. I did walk at night ONE night (although that probably wasn't a wise move), but all was fine. In the day the walk is very easy...I would say about 10 minutes or less(?) And the cabs are always outside the BM at night so you can go back and forth with ease.

The room was great, the resteraunt is not bad, the bar is fine, the internet is free (although it is not necessarily the fastest internet in the world). It is pretty inexpensive (about $50). Also, it is next door to a strip club for a little change of pace. It served my purposes well for a last minute trip when all the household names were booked.

True & well said. My meal was a similar experience. I found the Europa after a late night only room available experience at The Hotel Nuevo Johnson after booking last Taca Flight out of Miami for a weekend in from Montreal with time on mis manos. Have enjoyed several repeat at both the HNJ and the Europa. The Europa is way better.

Hi. Can you tell me a little more about Casa Conde? Visited the web-site and very nice facilities but a little out the way and near some of the hoods that scare me (Sagrada Familia, Cristo Rey etc). I'll proly end up staying in Europa though next wknd. if they are available. Thanks.

The website link for Europa was from 2007. Has anybody stayed there recently? They do not show the rooms, other than the pres suite, what are the others like? Iam coming in Sept, and the presidente is taking no reservations for that time. Appreciate the info brothers.
