Let's say they charged you $600 for MSP-HOU-SJO.
Let's say they charged someone in HOU $200-$300 for HOU-SJO.
Very soon, you would see no availability to purchase a ticket MSP-HOU-SJO because all the seats from HOU-SJO would be sold to HOU locals.
Any "hub" has to protect the connection flight or they can't make the sale for the longer flight...no seats! Savvy?
