Their website shows $125 for a small king suite. Is it that good of a deal for CRT VIP members?

I don't know. I have only gotten a Jr. Suite, and I don't know how that differs from a small king suite. The Jr. Suite is great, and as Boudmon posts above, he got it for $90. In my experience, it is always cheaper to book through Nixon, and in addition, there is no chica fee.

No concerns emailing credit card info to Nixon. I have done it several times , no problems. :D The only difference from normal checkin is that you go to the casino inside the Hotel rater than the front desk.Go to the cashier sign in, pay & they will give you a voucher to take to the front desk , they will give you a room assignment & imprint your card for incidentals , like any other Hotel.

I have never had any problems @ the Amon Plaza. You check in your chicas & they show their cedula like @ every other Hotel . No Chica Fees if booked through Nixon.

If I cannot get into the Sportsmans, this is my Hotel of choice.

LTS,

If you really want to be very close to Del Rey, then Sleep Inn might do it for you. However, like Boudmon, I have stayed at the Amon several times and have been very pleased. The taxis there use a maria so you can get to the Del Rey for a buck (getting back is another thing). The chicas seem to like it there, as well.

I usually email Nixon Netto at paradisorooms@hotmail.com and get a very quick response from him. Just tell him you are a vip and want to rent a jr suite for however many days and he will email you back with the price and then you send him credit card info. You won't know which room you are in (doesn't matter, IMO), but he will verify the category and price. Once you arrive, you go to the casino, obtain the voucher, and from then on, you are treated as a regular guest except for cheaper prices and no chica fee.

Anyway, its an alternative.

Nixon responded and indicated no rooms. Is this normal? Does he only get a few rooms to use for special guests? However, I was able to book a King Suite thru their website for $125. I guess I will give this place a try and cancel my Sleep Inn room. Since I can never bring 2 back with me to the Prez, guess I will now have that option should I want to do that! I guess I like the fact that there is an on-site bar and restaurant even if I don't plan on hanging out there. Still far prefer the News Cafe for that. But, if I feel like a cold beer and sexy ladies it's just a short stumble across the street to ZB.

Thanks to those who "steered" me back to this hotel. I have read both good and bad reviews about this place so I was a little gun-shy to give them a try. I prefer more upscale accommodations as wasn't sure that was what I was going to get. But the pictures on their website, it sure looks like a quality place. If somebody has first-hand knowledge to the contrary, please let me know as I can cancel up to the last day.

One last question..........Does the Amon Plaza have a check-in and check-out policy for guests? I have read yes and no, so I am obviously curious.

Anyone else going to be in-town from 8-17 to 8/20 and want to get-together over a beer?

Do I read correctly that if your room is not booked thru Nixon that I will have to pay guest fees at the Amon Plaza? I contacted him, but he did not have any rooms during my visit, but I was able to book thru the hotels website. I saw something on ISG that indicated there was a chica fee if the room was not booked thru Nixon.

Can someone PLEASE help me understand the guest policy at the Amon Plaza? If I am going to have to pay guest fees, I think I would rather pay the $100 @ Sleep Inn and be closer to the action. I still have time to cancel either room, so response(s) would be most appreciated.

You are correct, sir. I have stayed at the Amon various times. I have booked through the hotel's website and through Nixon. I paid a chica fee with the former and none with the latter.

Sorry that there are no rooms left going through Nixon. This is the first time I have heard of that happening. If you are indeed comfortable at the Sleep Inn, and do not mind the chica fee, then by all means, stay there.

Hope that is helpful.

Never stayed at the Sleep Inn, nor at Amon Plaza. So my question was more linked to a cost comparison, between the two. I like what Amon Plaza has to offer, but am not overly interested in paying $125 for the room and then still incur additional charges for guests on top of that. I could stay at the Holiday Inn, if I was not concerned about that.....LOL What did they charge you for a guest fee when you didn't book thru Nixon? Would they charge me double the fee if I were to bring back 2?

Thanks for the clarification........All I read on this board was the experience of those who booked thru Nixon. I wonder why he indicated no room, but I was able to find one online?

I just did a search, plugging in "amon chica fee" and saw several discussions of the issues you raise. The "amon chica fee" is $25.00. As to what a double would cost, I didn't undertake that research, but I recall that there are discussions to that effect, as well. You might call the hotel directly and inquire.

Thanks......found the same through a better search of reports. Just the mixed reviews on both Amon and Sleep Inn bother me. Guess that is why I always stay at The Prez....They know me there and I have never had any misunderstandings with the quality of service or what I could expect. I am on a waiting list for that weekend, so maybe they will have a last minute cancellation.

This doesn't get brought up much, but the CRT discount we get through Nixon at the Amon is actually the casino discount for gamblers. The hotel has nothing to do with it, notice how it's "book though Nixon at the casino", plus that you check in at the casino first. So I'd imagine he has a limited number of rooms to offer at this special rate, the Amon certainly doesn't want all of its rooms go for discounted prices.

If you can't get a room though Nixon, yeah, don't bother with the Amon, it's rather pricey as you've found out.
