Yea, I agree with Bluedevil. It is my home away from home. Alot of CRT's so you can meet like minded men. The staff is always nice. Darren the Manager even brings his parents and K*D to work which gives the place a homie feel. The new resturant serves good food. And there is alittle socail life.

You know it is a mongers hotel yet it is not. I would let my K*ds stay there in their own room. 100% safe.

It is my little hideaway. If I had one complaint it would be the walk up the hill from ZB. I am to cheap to pay for a Taxi for 3 blocks. But after a good work out at ZB I will be dammed if that hill ain't a good walk. But it is my choose to go to ZB. Not theirs

Actualy Darren only did the parent thing once while I was there. Did enjoy talking to them.

Sounds like a nice place... They were full on my last trip, or I would have stayed there.

ZB was also full, but thanks to some ingenuity on my and Eddie's part, I got to stay there anyway.

Talk about home away from.... oh, nevermind, my place in NY is my home away from my real home... ZB.

Has anyone stayed in room 8? I booked that one thinking it would be quieter than middle rooms in new wing. I love this place but some of the rooms have thin walls. Amon Plaza is pretty quiet but it's not a laid back monger hotel like Castillo.

I actually saw regular normal tourists staying at Castillo although rare. I also saw working girls coming out of rooms when finishing up the deed. It's a quiet place and not rowdy. I'm not sure about CRT friendly, because the conversation I heard between old timers and CRT assholes, I overheard it during breakfast. I didn't like those guys anyway. I stuck to myself and never mentioned CRT.

Terminator,

Hotel Castillo is not only CRT friendly, but a CRT Sponsor as well. Did you not take advantage of the more than generous CRT discount when you stayed there? :? What is said among the guests has nothing to do with the management of the hotel. BTW, opinions are like a**holes, everybody has one!

I stayed there this past april, sort of a last-minute cost savings measure inspired by holaB.

The bottom line is it's really a nice place. The restaurant next door is quite good, the service up front is fine, and the price is reasonable. I wish the in-window ac units didn't drip water right on the floor (but this is endemic to SJ as far as Ican tell) and I would have liked more towels, both of those probably could have been fixed -- I was just too blotto and/or rushed to deal with them.

I wouod have got with castillo for the LD trip coming up, except I bit on the good press about amistad. Castillo is a solid, mid-budget choice.
