Hotel M is the best deal in town if you are going to get the $50.00 rate for buying into the game. I spent about 5 days there last month. It is similar to the White House but a little less expensive. Rooms are normally $175.00-$250.00

I already have confirmed reservations for 2 stays there in September and then December for a weekend each time under the $50 poker players rate. It will give me an excuse to play.

Assuming their Hold'em game is no-limit, what is the buy-in and how much are the blinds?

It is a very short ride to the gulch. Approx. 5 minutes and $2.00. Staff running the place is great and friendly. Owner on premises quite alot of the time. Forget about the girls. I've been there about three times and the girls that hang there are just ok. Some of them that show up work the DR. A previus post indicated onlyy the higher class girls tend to work there because they do not want to frequent the gulch. I did not notice any ticas that I would consider any higher class than ticas at the DR.

Is there a thread on the poker rate? I didn't realize they even had a regular game there. $50/night? I'm all over that.

I booked the poker rate for a long weekend (nov 28-dec 3) -- They play thurs-sunday, however, so I didn't get the rate for my first night.

Orange, PM me if you're there the first weekend in Dec. Your 2005 posts were what I first read around here, and it'd be a hoot to meet up with you.

I get the sense the hotel is a bit isolated; my thought was that the game would be popular enough to serve the same kind of function as SL's happy hour (finding a posse of like-minded mongerers, etc.) but I'd be interested to hear some experiences from folks who stayed there without a wingman and not during a holiday.

I stayed at the ZB hotel last trip out, which is great until about 8, and then totally dead. How is the HM just as a place to hang, sans wingman?

I stayed there about a month ago, for 2 days. While I did spend most of my time elsewhere, I saw a grand total of three women in the bar who were on the game, and none were stunners. Is this normal now or was I there at a bad time?

For the organized events, like the SuperBowl party, the HM can't be beat. http://photos1.hi5.com/0003/157/848/9nSTUO157848-02.jpg

On any random night, it's pretty weak, and does not hold a candle to the selection in the Gulch. Still, if you make inquries, there might be a few chicas there.

The details that I was given before weren't clear, so I emailed Russ who runs the Hotel M poker game for a clarification on the $50 poker player rate.

Requirements to get $50 rate:
-4 hours play per day
-they run $3/5 NL
-min $200 buy-in
-start at 4pm

Not the kind of action I go on vacation for.
