I would think 4 hours before your flight is a bit on the extra cautious side but if thats what your comfortable with no problem. Have not heard of any problems with reliability but even if they do not show up you have plenty of time for the hotel to call or cab or if you are in the gulch always taxi's available.

You made valid points, except when taking Interbus TO the airport, you don't get a choice as to what time they pick you up. You have to give them your flight info and they pick you up 4 hours before.

From their website: The pickup time for a Shuttle Out is scheduled for four hours prior to the flight departure time. This is in accordance with airline regulations requesting that passengers arrive at the airport at least three hours before the scheduled departure time.

I thought about taking them but I'm not waiting 3 hours at the gate. I'll pay the extra $7 and take a taxi 90 minutes before my flight.

Four hours before. I guess I could see that if you are flying the plane.
The extra taxi money is worth the convenience in time.

I booke their service. They gave me a 3 hour before flight pick up time. Still a little too much? But thats the same time I allow for my flights in the us.

How's the service going from San Jose to other Areas like Jaco and etc.? Is it cheap? Reliable?

Excellent. I've used them to go to Flamingo. Much cheaper than taxi for 1 person. If you have a few people, a taxi may be a better option per person. They pick you up at your hotel and drop you off at your destination hotel. Comfortable, fairly new min-buses, A/C, usually less than 4 people. They stop at reststops for meal and bathroom breaks.

I recommend it.
