The dress code policy sounds as wishy-washy as the chica fee, or lack thereof, at the SLEEP INN :P.

I'm an old fan of the Prez, but I will not stay where I am not wanted. I'm a little sensitive about that. I don't want to feel that I am doing something inconsiderate, or that they are simply tolerating my behavior.

If the Prez wants to become a mainstream tourist hotel, that is their prerogative, but that means I don't belong there any more.

I currently down here in the SJO and stayed at the Prez for 5 nights. Only on 1 occasion did the guard stop me with a chica. I flashed my CRT card and he waved me on....no problemmo

LurkerNoMore ... The hotel is nice , but extremely over-rated. You can stay in HDR or SL and not have to look at filthy gringas & eco-tourists. You are there for hot babes and hot babes aren't welcome at prez. I have been having a better time in CR since quit staying there ... so have several of my buddies.

I think it's only appropriate to discuss this nw, if the Presidente has significantly stepped up their power trip. From the originating post, it sounds like they've gone from checking midriffs and belly rings to skirts above the knee?

Certainly gringa eco-sluts have no problems, judging from the amount of cottage cheese spilling from the legs of shorts, the doughy pastry rolls spilling over waistbands and the exposed shoulders of the would-be-tanned tourists.

If The Presidente is tightening the screws further, we need to know about it. If it's the same as it's been for the past year, maybe no discussion is warranted.

As a side note to the dress code issue, I have a massuse with special talents that I saw twice while at the Presidente over the Thanksgiving period.
The first time she arrived in a low cut blouse and she has enhanced boobs which dazzel my senses. She got into the hotel without problem.

I think the reason she got in is because she is "older," about 38 years old, and does not appear to be a young twat.

I cautioned her to wear a full blouse the next day when she returned to administer massage therapy to my old fat body. No problems.

Ace, yeah, I was think age differences have something to do with it. My Tica regular that I have mentioned is 33, though looks a few years older; I'm 40, though look a bit younger (and am not fat at all). Together we look like a matched couple. :D It's all the old fat guys bringing in 20-year old "spinners" who are going to have problems; accept that fact or stay elsewhere, it's simple as that.

I've spotted those occasional reviews on travel sites too, here's a couple more...
Quote:
-My wife asked why all the young girls were checking in with old guys.

-Sadly, there were several drunken tourists who brought prostitutes back to the hotel which made for a very noisy evening.
And a couple for the Del Rey:
Quote:
-"Great brothel, horrible hotel"
Do not be confused. This hotel is actually the most notorious brothel in Central America...if you are looking for a decent hotel, this is not the place. The hotel is not very nice. The facilities and rooms are lackluster, about the quality of a cheesy casino hotel off the strip in Las Vegas. The rooms are loud, the linens are threadbare, and services (other than the previously mentioned brothel) are non-existent. The hotel restaurant is not recommended. Plus, the place is crawling with low lifes, hookers, and the atmosphere is like (again) a seedy off-the-strip Vegas casino hotel.
Unless you are looking for a great brothel and okay casino with a lousy room upstairs to crash (or whatever else you may choose to do), this is a definate avoid.

-It was safe and fun but be prepared to have the "working girls" hang all over your man or your male traveling companions.

You bunch of lowlifes! :P

But you do have to feel for those guests checking into the HDR that have no clue...

This Thread might explain why the Presidente does'nt offer the CRT Discount during the High Season. I tried to book my March 07 trip there and the girl Maria and the Manager both told me that they only Honor the Discount during the Off Season. Just thought you Guys should know.

YO Pres Problemas:

I like that Paco....as usual, you are always prevy with a news flash.

I differ with my amigo Ciego. It is old news in relation to past posts and the Pres is what it is and has every right to pick and choose. As far as I'm concerned, it is still the best accomodations considering the service and amenities offered in the Gulch. Indeed, it is not for everyone and I'm sure that hte management of the Pres will agree.

Best that CRT members who do utilize this hotel acknowledge this and use a bit of creativity when signing in chicas. Damn! Some of you fellows appear not to even be toilet trained when it comes to getting the best out of a situation. Sounding like little tykes that just can't get his way unless mommy makes sure everything is there for you. Just kidding of course but I've miss the savy of travelers in my day.

It's up to you whether you stay one place or another and that is your personal right. I just happen to dissagree with certain assertions.

BTW, I'm not a sought after lodger anymore at the Pres but I still have respect for them along with fond memories.
