Since last February's Super Bowl Party, I have made 5 trips to CR and I've stayed in the Sportmen's Lodge four times.
My first night last February (Saturday) was spent at 1st floor room at Casa Vino because there were no rooms available at the SL until Sunday night.
I did not particularly care much for the accessibility factot to the room at Casa Vino.... hell, you open the door and your next step is on the sidewalk. But as far as noise, the only thing that was of any serious concern was the street traffic.
Regarding my stay at the SL, I was in the Belleza room which is right next to the kitchen and very close to the atrium side of the bar. Not the quietest of rooms. However, I did not hear any music coming from the Penthouse.
My second stay at the SL was for eight days (Sat thru Sun) to celebrate my 60th BD and I was roomed in Ilusiòn. The noise from the bar and the traffic up and down the new wing hallway did indeed bother me quite a bit and was very distracting whenever I was being entertained. And if you open the curtain to the glass window you can see who is sitting at the computer station.
On Thursday, I was moved from Ilusiòn to Mirador and that was when the noise really became a problem. As Wit pointed out, the room is right at the base of the door to the Penthouse and the music feels as if it is right outside your door. Also, I echo Wit's remark about the pitter patter of female high heels going up and down the stairs.
And then on Saturday I was moved to Amor... and the only I remember about that little room is that Valeria and I broke the bed before I left Sunday morning.
On my next stay at the SL I was fortunate enough to stay in Amante which is a little more spacious room and provides some type of acoustic advantage because the noise was less noticeable. And IMHO, the bathroom is nicer.
For my last stay at the SL, I was one of the guilty parties who decided to enjoy Latin Music at all times and volume levels on the excellent sound system the facility provides. I know it is an inconvenience and a nuisance for others, but it is also a feature we are paying a pretty penny for and therefore expect to enjoy it whenever and however we want.
And if Bill is reading this, I and one of our distinguished guests would like to suggest that a couple of speakers be installed in the Jacuzzi room. That way there would be no necessity to elevate the music volume so it can be heard in the Jacuzzi area.
The front desk staff, the bartenders, the cooks, and especially the maintenance personnel at the SL are top notch and Bill has always been a most gracious, entertaining, and elegant host. He will do whatever he can to accomodate and meet your needs as soon as he is aware of them. He has great contacts to obtain tee times for those who want to hit the links, and he will sit with you and chat about everything and anything. He has been a class act, but I pesonally feel that he needs to reinstate the close operational supervision he has always been known for.
It is also an added feature to find available entertainment sitting right outside your door or just down the stairs... waiting for you and at a fair and just price. But, as Wit mentioned, one can indeed feel a little peculiar having to walk through the bar with your entertainment in tow. If she is a great looker it is great to show her off... but if it is a mercy ph*ck... then it can be a bit ackward, specially when other CRTs who have sessioned with the chica are sitting at the bar notice her.... and you.
Lastly, my stays at the SL have been both enjoyable and very entertaining. I've made very good friends there and I'll never forget how they (specifically Mendobrew, Frank1942,and Bill and his wonderful lady) helped me celebrate the BIG 60! You guys are THE BEST!
