AMEN Admin to all of the above.........

Again its funny no offense to anyone in particular but another member bitching about the Presidente, rates etc non confirmed ala the members bitching about dress codes and once again..

NOT A VIP MEMBER!

Note to Presidente Management... Do away with all of those external discounts.. Corporate etc.. Give them to VIP members only.. .You can keep your price points at where you want them and also give the supporting members of CRT a dicsount that is not only valued but then the voice of its members will certainly be heard.

My voice has been heard here enough to know I don't shill about a particular hotel, but I do value my VIP membership, so I stand by my statement.

Capo,
Once again I have to completely agree with your added point. Again, I've been one to knock the Prez's recent policy changes but a) I'm a paid forum member and b) even if I wasn't those are changes that affect anyone who stays there. In this case not only was the thread started by a "member" who hasn't seen fit to contribute financially to the board for all the tangible and intangible benefits he has received but has the chutzpah to complain when getting a free ride on the discount that should really only go to paying members.

Guys, the info may be given away for free, but if you also want the Admin to work out savings on your behalf, you should be willing to support the Admin for the modest fee he asks in return. If you aren't you shouldn't complain about anything that has to do with group discounts. Go out and try to negotiate your own discounts if you feel that strongly.

Could it be that these same guys that feel they're somehow automatically entitled to certain priveledges without really any tradeoffs on their part, are the same ones who went into the Prez causing disturbances without really any concern about how their behavior impacted other guests, and led the Prez to feel they had to make the changes they did. Maybe if there were more gentlemen whorticulturists out there and fewer mongers, all these lengthy discussion threads on this subject would never have needed to come up.

For the guys who don't like the Presidente, they can always try to get the Soprano discount at the Morazon.

I already have my room assigned at the Presidente for my late June trip, and can hardly wait.

The Prez is still a deal at 61 (not saying there is an increase, just saying it is worth 61) - I love the Prez.

the Prez can KMA, for merely the $10 extra fee, I can pay my entire nights bill at a Tico hotel.

I wouldn't stay there if they lowered the price $10.

I will agree that it is a good hotel for a first timer and that for some a hotel to patronize on a regular basis, just no longer my cup of tea.

However, at their rates, I would rather stay at the CV, Castillo, Sl, etc...

I enjoy staying at the Presidente and will be there again over Labor Day. That being said it's interesting that the subject of a price increase should be raised at this time. Just the other day I was re-evaluating my future travel budget and was getting the feeling the Prez was pricing itself out of my "comfort zone".

Sure it's a nice place, good location (if you can get back safely), nice complementary breakfast "with a view", etc, but let's face it, it is DOWNTOWN. There isn't really any reason for any of us to stay there unless we're partaking of the other venues in the area.

$61 plus 16+% tax for a standard room is getting a little high. $95-$105 plus 16+% tax for a Jr. suite (even with a jacuzzi) is really pushing it.
It's not as if there are nice grounds to walk or a pool to enjoy.

I don't spend too much time in my room except to sleep, shower and occasionally entertain a guest for an hour or two. I seldom even turn the TV on. I will have to ask myself, "Am I really getting my best return for the money?"

After Labor Day I may have to look into a less expensive alternative. Of course if the CRT VIP discount keeps things within a reasonable price range then it will still be a good choice for me.

Pura Vida!

I guess I'm not clear enough after 3 posts on this subject....

THERE IS NOTHING except one posters comments, INDICATING A PRICE INCREASE SO WHY ARE WE STARTING TROUBLE WHERE NONE EXISTS?

YOU ALL WILL BE THE 1st to know if there is a price increase, how it effects us and what the overall new discounts will be....

I'm growing a bit impatient with this as you can see..... UNTIL SUCH TIME AS WE HAVE CONFIRMED INCREASE IN PRICING, any more speculation on this is seriously going to piss me off.

Admin1,
I will always bow to your views but is there no room in this forum for discussion on this subject?

We're not advocating burning the place down, just voicing opinions on a possible price increase. A social interaction and thoughts on this particular hotel. Not a debate or a witch hunt.

A possible price increase, if one were to be put into place, is a more solid subject than an interpretation of a dress code and should be discussed openly.

If we in fact find out the information is bogus we'll know who to discuss it with at that time. Even without a price increase I was re-evaluating my travel expenses and the Presidente is a big player in my budget.

My point here is this... Why start a thread on a possible price increase if non exists...

It like any other statement that begins with word on the street. It serves no purpose other than to fire up the thousands of members to start thinking negative thoughts on a subject that are not necessary.

Its like saying word on the street is Prez will have a chica fee soon... no foundation then you have 200 posts on why they shouldn't have a tica fee when non exists.

You want to have a thread regarding all hotels, and establishments and price increases as it pertains to gringos / ticos... why gringo prices different from tico prices, fine but NOT HERE....

I am short on patience with the continual banter of word on the street that is a direct negative reflection of a long time sponsor that has given no indication of any of the above stated quotes.

There are always discussions as to what is in the best interest of CRT and our VIP's as it pertains to the Presidente, as I am constantly in touch with the Mgt. group. As stated until such time as something concrete has been given to us for 2007, the "word on the street" will not apply to this thread.

THANK YOU.

EXACTLY. This is why the Castillo is looking better and better. I spent probably 20% of the time in CR in the room, yet I am paying $80+taxes a night. :?

Over LD weekend, I am staying in Castillo. $50/night (taxes incl) for a Deluxe (since I'll be staying more than 7 days).

It's a good deal.

YO Lustful Lodgers:

I am proud to announce that Cardboard Inns, Inc. will not have a price increase this entire year despite rumors that are circulating. It has been discuused that if the rainy season damages too many of our suites that a Transient Room Tax may be added but it'a a wait and see factor.

We will be adding a couple of master suites hopefully by Labor Day due to an upcoming shipment of two grand pianos in crates. My "crack" staff will be working out the details with the shipping company next week along with searching for suitable locations. Hopefully Admin 1 and me can work out a special CRT rate affordable to all. From what I see in the postings here and the penny-pinching prospects......that should not be a problem.

Sincerely,
Circus, CEO
Cardboard Inns, Inc.

Yo Circus:

I know Cardboard Inns, Inc, does not have Chica fees and no Chica limits, which is a great factor that usually steers me to your fine establishment. I was wondering if you will be adding in a continental breakfast included in the CRT VIP rate? The room service that your establishment already provides is second to none. I would like to hold the Master Suite for Labor Day before any other member who already has 4 or so reservations elsewhere tries to score that room.

Regards,
Broadway

Yo Circus:

I'm afraid your 20 colones charge is too much for my taste.

will you have something in the 5 colones range?

otherwise, I will be boarding at the sidewalk level overhang in front of the now vacant nasty, nasty Rasta Store.

besides, last visit at your establishment, I did not appreciate the rude comments from your 'crack' staff, headed up by El Ciego, about my drawer's skid marks.
