Is it just me, or does anyone stay at the Hotel Morazan? I see very little info on this hotel. I'm told that the tica fees are $5.00 U.S. and limit one per day, Is this true? It's location to the Delrey is a plus, But with the increase in fees at the Delrey I was thinking about booking my room at the Morazan. I will be in San Jose May 23-30 and will be looking for a wingman to split the hotel bill with. Any advise? Thanks ZORO

I stayed there for a week in October and and again in January. The rooms are comfortable, clean and reasonably priced (around $40 per night for a standard room). A $5 per night chica fee is advertised, but if you ask the person at the front desk nicely, and you are a "frequent flyer" at the hotel, he or she may overlook the charge.

Having said all of this, I cannot vouch for how accommodating the front desk may be now with the reported departure of former Morazan stalwart, Alonzo. Nevertheless, it doesn't hurt to ask!

I stayed there three times and never paid a chica fee. I just acted like I knew what I was doing and they never even brought it up.

Slut,
Actually only 28 if you enclose "Hotel Morazon" in quotes to filter just those posts that had BOTH words together, but your point is well taken.

Zoro,
The Morazon used to be arguably the #1 favorite "monger" hotel among seasoned vets. It has fallen into disfavor for 2 main reasons. It has an unfortunate reputation for not being very reliable when it comes to holding or honoring reservations. I suspect now that their business has fallen off due to the departure of much of their regular clientele over to the Prez that this should not be as much of a problem. Personally, even at the height of its popularity, I never had a problem with any of my reservations.

The second reason it is not as popular as it used to be, is the EXTREME distaste left in the mouths of MANY vets caused by the MULTIPLE postings (shillings really) of one of its customers. These posts were so pervasive, obnoxious and self-serving and created so much acrimony and controversy that they actually led to the demise of this forum's predecessor (the nonresponsiveness of that forum's owner to the problem was equally responsible). In fact, the very name of that poster has been banned from more than one site including this one and the guy himself can no longer show his face in several mongering countries for fear of having the shit kicked out of him. Buy a vet an imperial some time and ask him to tell you the tale. Its an interesting one. Anyway, I think this has caused a sort of guilt by association and a lot of vets just don't seem to like the Morazon anymore.

Thanks fellow CRT members for your info. Prolijo thanks for narrowing the search, I tried it several ways and still came up with well over 500 hundred hits, With 99% having nothing to do with the hotel. Sluthog could have just helped out instead being a smartass. I thought this site was about helping others and making new contacts. Oh well. ZORO

The actual name of the place is: Hotel Costa Rica Morazan. I don't know if that will make a difference, but it's worth a try.

BE CAREFUL!

My first rip I booked via internet at Hotel Morazon. It's a bed and breakfast around the corner from ZB. It sucks!

IT IS NOT CHICA FRIENDLY!

They kept my $250 and gave me the boot.

I was hiking to the Costa Rican Morazon with bags in tow and was pleasantly surprised to hear a shout of "I luff you babeeeee!

I looked over and saw 3 tranny's who would be the pride of any NCAA front line proclaiming ther "luff" for me. I shouted "I luff you too"............. and ran my ass off for the real Morazon, where I had planned to spend 5 days. I stayed for 15!

"Thanks for the memories!"

The Costa Rican Morazon is great! Be sure to get the $40 coupon from Tico Times.
