Adventurers (AKA Mongers! LOL) beware, a waitress at Dunn Inn named Carla with nice racks and pretty face will try to screw you to the tune of $30 at the 11th hour of your last day of stay.

I had a pretty darn good stay at Dunn between Jan 3rd and 10th of this month, until around 10 AM, just about an hour before the official check-out time I receive a call at my hotel room. It's Carla, the sexy waitress at the sports bar who struck a little conversation with me in English, not too long ago. She asks "when are you leaving for the States", and I'm like, "Oh, I'm just about leaving", as if she doesn't know that already. So then she asks when am I coming back, and I'm like, well I don't know, maybe next year, maybe two, I don't know. So then asks if I can do her a favor a lend her $30 because she has a such and such bill to pay and she was in crunch to pay that off. Thankfully, I had already learned about this trick of screwing Gringos in Chuck Green's "Living La Vida Loca in Costa Rica" ahead of my trip, so I knew exactly what my answer would be: Hell NO. She kept going a bit more before giving up and saying a painful and rather disgraceful good bye at the end. How did this girl knew which room I was staying and when I was leaving?

I thought I share my experience with other Gringos.

Just say No and be done with it

It is not uncommon for girls to ask for a tip.

Did she sit for hours during your trip listening to your exciting stories telling you how handsome you are ?

Was she reminding you that you forgot to tip her ?

Or Did you tip her well and was she "looking a gift horse in the mouth".

She was setting you up for the opportunity to take $ 100 off your bill for a $30 tip. After you were gone your bill would be corrected and your card recharged. Years ago Alonzo at the Morazan would do that.

I would have ordered a beer for room service.

I don't think she was offering a trade at the last hour,, rather she knew exactly when I was leaving and saved it for the last minute to give me a little screwing.. I would have pounced on her had she offered it any sooner, say a day before my departure,,I think she's smarter than that,, and I don't see it as a courtesy reminder for not paying her tips,, other than a couple of beers, she never served me with much else

This has nothing to do with the dunn inn, but with a girl working for them. Was this girl reported to Management?

....If she works at the Dunn Inn then it has EVERYTHING to do with the Dunn Inn. What kind of comment is that?

Its a scam, who cares, say no, she probably went to the front desk and checked who was checking out that day and made her rounds or overheard you. NBD. It happens. A fool and their money will soon be parted.

I thought by now you would have lightened up on the Dunn Inn, since they were right about Boyd

They may have been right about Boyd and hiring great people like Guy Grand and Scottie V, but then why did they fire Guy and Scottie and keep John Gomes??

I don't think she tried to screw you. I think she just wanted to see how naive you are and whether you'd "lend" her $30.
