Thanks for posting this Maboman. I've been trying to get a decent flight out of Atlanta but the best thing direct was Delta at $600. I had decided to take US Air out of Charlotte for $333 and spend 6 hours driving round trip to Charlotte to save the $270.. Of course the drive time, car operation, and airport parking would mean I save less than $270 but you get the picture- oh, not to mention I'd probably be spent by the time I arrive in CR..

Anyway, I just searched Expedia- normally I just check Delta and Orbitz- and got a price direct on Delta from Atlanta for $401 total. I'm pumped and thanks to your thread I checked another source, Expedia.

TF,

No problem my friend, glad to help :D I also booked my trip and will be in CR March 28 to April 4.

These airfares are funny...I've been checking them every day now for a month and they have been in the high 500- 600 for awhile now. You can imagine what I felt like when I did my search and came up with $417   :D

Funny side note, I called Delta direct and gave the biatch the flight numbers and was quoted 6 something for the same ticket... I said I was looking at a $417 rate on expedia and she shot back very rudely "well, I guess you'll just have to buy it from THEM" I politely told her that I didn't like her attitude and to ph*ck off. 8)

Just another Gringa thats upset that some cute little Tica is gonna get my Leche and not her 8)

anyway good luck booking fellers

Maboman

Yeah Mabo, when you see that it makes you do a double and triple-take, "ok, WTH is wrong with this picture?" It's the exact same flight direct to San Jose that Delta and Orbitz were asking $600 for. It's the same flight I could board in Charlotte for at $333 RT but just have to connect through Atlanta.. But, I have confirmation and itinarary in my email box and Delta's not getting it back.

It just shows how sharing information helps. I don't know where I'd be today if it weren't for meeting a CRT member during my one and only day trip(rafting) in four visits to San Jose. It was my first trip and happened to run back into him outside NY Bar that night. He sees I'm green, takes me to News Cafe, breaks down the scene, we cab it to the Sportsmens and he shows me CRT on one of their computers.. Needless to say I was thinking, "jackpot!"

Maboman. My thanks also. Just booked a quick trip in the middle of March. $352 from Boston through Expedia. Delta website still has it close to $500.

I definitely like the goals that you've set! Aim high.... that's what I say !!! If you're successful with your "tour", you'll be in a coma by the end of your trip!!! :P

Sorry Mabo,
But at 25% ain't gonna be much of a tour if you are going all-Colombiana. Maybe you should ask for 50%.

Don't listen to him Maboman. Just step up your 'game' a little bit when you're negotiating with them. If you're a Sexy B*tch, and a good negotiator, you'll have them Colombiana's eating out of the palm of your hands (and wherever else you ask them to)!

If you sign up with Expedia and Travelocity, you can set up a profile and you can list your favorite destinations. This morning I checked my email and expedia advertised Costa Rica for $384 out of Chicago. I'm booked.

Also checked flights for Thanksgiving week and it's $500, not bad considering the prices I was quoted last year around October/November. I was thinking about booking now but i'm looking at maybe trying out Medellion this year and Thanksgiving week would be the only time I can get away for 8 to 9 days. I think 4-5, 6 at the most is perfect for CR, after that it takes a toll on you. maybe because I drink too damn much, my body wants to shut down, that or the chica scene gets to familiar? My twelve day trip was a bitch!!
