I'm making a quick trip to Arenal and want to understand the climate. Is it super hot? Or, temperate like SJ?? Do I need a light jacket? I assume if you take trips in the mountains, it gets much cooler. Is there a special packing list I should be aware of??? Thanks!

Its great weather when I was there it seemed cooler than SJ bring a light jacket for sure. Good restaurants around there too. some pretty nice hotels in the area cheap too in La Fortuna.

the weather is great around Arenal. Humidity is low, temps reach low 80 around midday with a strong sun. Suncreen might be a good idea. Nights get cool like SJ.

Also, if you go in rainforest around Arenal, the Hanging Bridge tour, wear long pants, or else the mosquitos will eat you up!!
