Sorry if some of my latest questions have been asked and answered before, but anyways.

I was thinking about buying the CRT membership and just wanted to weigh out the pros and cons so to speak.

1 - How long does it take to get the card or whatever it is, or rather how long do I have to wait before I can take advantage of the hotel rates? I live in Canada if that makes any difference, just outside of Halifax.

2 - In regard to question 1, how do I book a hotel and get the CRT price? Do I just say on the phone "Yeah, so Im CRT" and they know what Im talking about? Or does it have to be in person for this to take place? If thats the case, then how do I book a room at for say the Presidente at the regular rate with my credit card now and then get the discount rate.

Ah so confusing, hopefully you understand what I mean.

Im just not sure if the "deals" are suited to me right now, because I mean I was planning on heading down in about a month, few days after the huge soccer game on the 7th so likely the 10th or so.

Im just trying to figure out how this whole discount process works, whether I can book it prior to being there or if I get the discount once I arrive and such.

Oh boy the confusion :)

You can buy your membership at the Sportsmens thru Bill or @ Zona Blue thru Eddie.

Pay now over the net and pick up your card at Zona Blue when you arrive. Save time and money! Just let them know you do not want your card mailed but want to pick it up@ ZB

Pura Vida!

So how would I take advantage of a hotel discount then? I mean if I was to pick up the card as I got there, wouldnt I have to have rooms booked prior to that?

Yeah - you'll need it in advance for bookings. But buy it: the superbowl party alone is worth it.

Jmacaula,
Actually you do not need to card to get the Presidente discount. Just tell them you want to corporate rate. But the card is definitely well worth it otherwise and I am glad to see you have the VIP membership. I will also be there in November and I hope to meet you.

I am a Costa Rica veteran, for many years.

I joined CRT last year, and my savings paid for my membership in one weekend in San Jose.

Since then I haved saved hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars.
