Looking for some guidance / advice here. Can some one share your experience using rental car to roam around Coasta Rica - some general details like rental cost, insurance (heard it's very high), navigation, safety etc. Been there on few trips now and want to get beyond chica business and explore the country on my own. I use National when I come out. I have a good corporate code that gives me a discount and as well adds the needed insurance (so I do not need to figure out what else I need). it comes at a good rate, but not free of course. The corporate code is 5026639 (TDB Publications). People there are nice and helpful. Now and then you get an odd bird, but overall they are helpful and it is easy. Nice shuttle from the airport. It is also walking distance from the Marriott that I stay at when leaving out early in the mornings from San Jose.
