Considering trying something a bit different next visit.

Anyone familiar with Hotel Grano de Oro? "Boots on the Ground" responses please. If so what are your thoughts, either good or bad.

More importantly, could my Novia come stay with me without a hassle?

Thank You.

Earlier this year, I stayed in the Vista de Oro suite at Grano de Oro with my local tica girlfriend for 2 nights before I flew home as a treat for us both. The jacuzzi was great, the bed was super comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The dinner menu was lackluster, so we ate elsewhere. The room rate was little high, but this was a once in a lifetime thing. Service was superb.

There is an outdoor rooftop area which is lovely. There are nicer hotels in San Jose, but it depends what you are looking for. Location, view, amenities, etc.

Also, if you have mobility issues, there are no elevators. I had a super heavy Pelican type hard case and I felt really bad for the 2 guys who had to drag it up those tight stairways into the room.

Your novia is just fine to take there, but she has to check in with you. Which means she needs her ID. Also, if she is wearing normal clothes instead of the usual evening spicy minidress, that would be a good choice.

Overall, I had a lovely time. Would I ever stay there again? Unlikely.
