Lets say I met a chica in the jungle bar at Taoromina. Is it better to stay there for a quick stay or go to SL for a quick stay? I keep reading on here that the security at Taoromina is a bit of an issue

There are no quick stays at either. You would have to book at least for one day.

Security is similar, the girl has to be allowed in or you would not have even met her there. That alone doesn't mean much, other than that they have never been banned for some reason. So if you met someone at either of these places and then say went back to wherever you were staying there would be no involvement with security. If you are staying at the Taormina or at the Sportsmens and you meet a chica that is already in the place working then at Taormina you need to go to the desk to take them to your room (as I understand it) so they can charge you the guest fee if that applies. At Sports there is no guest fee so you just go straight to your room with her.

I used a taxi driver on my last trip and he said while he was outside the Taormina about a year ago, 2 guys pistol whipped him and stole his taxi. He showed me pictures of his bloody head.

Both venues are a bitt expensive to use as a short time hotels. Google LA Oficina. A decent short time hotel vey close to Taormina (take a taxi).

look up la oficina motel in san jose, cr. It is on Ave. 9, very close to Taormina. 1 block south, a couple blocks west.

On Ave 9 walk east .It is between calle 1 and 3 or may be central and 1. Just before Pension 360. It has a big sign saying La Oficina.

Across the street from the side entrance from the old del rey is another short time hotel next to the restaurant, If you blink you will miss it. And its not the roach hotel "Asia"

the Taormina is @ the crn of Calle 3/Ave. 11

to get to la oficina walk 1 block south to Ave. 9, turn right, which is WEST, go 1 block to Calle 1

& la oficina will be @ the southwest corner of Ave. 9/Calle 1

Yeah my recommendation is honestly to just stay in Sportsmans and just pick up girls at Taormina. I've never done La Oficina but I have definitely seen it. My issue is that it just looks super sketchy.

If you're on a budget I would just recommend going to Monicas and Oasis which do offer half hour sessions.

The Oficina is in a VERY sketchy neighborhood but the rooms are actually pretty nice.

Just wondering, why not both pick up and stay at Taormina? As opposed to pick up at Toarmina then taxi to SL?

In the past I have stayed at the Taormina and enjoyed it. They have gotten way too greedy IMHO.

Chica fee, 3500 colones for a local beer, mixed drinks incredibly steep especially when the charge for a full bottle of mixers. And the bars are only really good enough to pick up women. I would now much rather stay at the Sportsmens or Castillo, do most of my eating and drinking there then head down to the Taormina to grab some company if the pickings are slim at the SL or Castillo.
