The video has an off camera voice saying the open in 15 days, no room renovation. The space is dark with no sign of lights or power. A worker can be seen on the sidewalk washing out a 5-gallon bucket. No signs or posters on the windows or doors. Then a few chuckles, some nostalgia comments, there you have it.

Yeah, I'd call that a firm confirmation.

Well, the video is question was posted 11/21 and promised a del Rey opening in 15 days. That would put the opening day on December 6th, National Gazpacho Day. Perhaps Swedish meatballs won't be on the menu, but warm beer and cold tomato soup. Also National Pawnbrokers Day, so guard you watches and cellphones.

OK, I am counting on the HDR being open on time on Dec 15th.
No wait, this is Costa Rica, not Austria.

Every 2 weeks, somebody posts that the Del Rey is opening, “next month.” In Costa Rica the answer to most questions is “next month.”

Time to put the rumors to rest. I have it from an unimpeachable Costa Rica Puta that the Del Rey is confirmed for a December reopening. Watch for an official ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by Elvis who will be serving as the Master of Ceremonies.

I think the wires got crossed, I heard it was Bruce Lee doing the ribbon cutting

I ran into a well known bellhop that Loves Lucy last week. He was applying for a job at the Rey. I wished him luck. Evidently they are having a job fair.

I don't believe it. If the HDR, in the 'Grand Scheme ' of things were to email us an offer of VIP status and generous discounts for only a $500 buy in, I might be tempted to feel it was business as usual in the gulch

When I was there early November, I spoke with a guy, inside the DR. They were putting up a Christmas tree and decorations. I would put money on an opening before Christmas. Now, my question is will they have the casino operating by my next visit mid January. Yeah, before all the DR casino sucks comments…. I totally agree. But it’s a great way to watch chicas and feed my gaming needs.

I would take that bet. But I'm back home now...and in any case would not be in the DR.

So I got word from a reliable source that there's a small fortune in back taxes anyone buying the HDR would have to pay and CR officials were embarrassed by its world wide notoriety as they want to market this place as a family fun nature preserve with a beautiful countryside and don't want vice scaring off clean tourists so they won't allow it to return to monger heaven status.

Another reliable source who doesn't have any history of crazy talk told me he knows a "rich guy" who is negotiating its purchase and he feels confident it will be open and returned to it's previous glory and greatness, but buying it during the still annoying Covid restrictions seems odd to me...

I say no...not happening soon...walked past the other day, dead, nobody in there...
