I like the taormina and you can get some great deals. When I book a flight on Delta I usually get the option to book a discounted hotel. Last trip got the Taormina, with breakfast for $55 before taxes.
Nice bar with pretty good prices. Great bar food. Good size, modern room. Short walk to HLH and Soda Peru.
Have never stayed a Santo Tomas due to their restrictive guest policy but I have used their pool and gym area before. I believe they charged me about $8 for access as a non guest.
