I took Spirit from MSY-->FLL-->MDE 12/26-12/31/2017.

No issues with the early a.m flight time, everything went fairly smooth. I had 2 issues with them which were not that big a deal.

-1) They won't even give a complimentary cup of water on their flights. I know it's a bare bones type airline, but really, not even a cup of water. I was told I could I could purchase a bottle if I wanted. I asked for a cup of ice filled to the top & let it set on my tray table until it melted & that worked out fine. I know, I know, I'm a tightwad mfer, but that is how I can afford these type trips....by being a tightwad coinsqueezer. HAHA.

-2) On the return trip from MDE--> FLL, the ticket agent Manuela told me I was allowed only one carry on bag. I told her on the previous 2 flights down to MDE, I had a backpack & a small travel bag and no body had a problem. She was very polite but told me she would not issue my boarding pass until I put one of the bags in the other one. As I was struggling to stuff the backpack into the travel bag, she stepped across the baggage scale & saw that I was at attempting to comply and she handed me my boarding passes. She then told me they would not let me on with 2 bags and to keep trying to fit one into the other. As I was waiting for boarding, I culled some clothes & food & managed to fit the travelbag & contents into the backpack & it was all good. As soon as I got to my seat, I took the rolled up travel bag out of the backpack & returned the contents from the backpack back to the travel bag & put it into the overhead bin. No further issues.

So, I have read a lot of bad reviews about Spirit & just hope these are the only type issues I have.

I know, very boring story, but my flights went fairly smooth.

Cheapwad protip. Take an empty bottle of water with you to the airport. After you are through security then you can fill it up at a fountain! Headed down on Spirit in 5 days!
