When I go to the Philippines for vacation, I sometimes hire a driver with car for a day. Is there such a driver service in San Jose? What is the cost per day?

Once you've been to SJ you will realize it's unnecessary. You could hire a pirate taxi, but be prepared for a couple of Benjamins a day or more.

SJ is a small but crowded city with insane traffic. Parking is a constant issue. I use Uber when I want to go anywhere and it works (City Mall, Escazu, Heredia, Cartago).
