I ended up getting a blu phone on amazon.. I got the international dual sim one, but really a waist of money. My verizon samsung phone, they said unlocked.. it is except when you try to share the wifi "tethering" its built in to the verizon software to look for a verizon subscription, and won't authenticate with another SIM in there. blu phone is good, just the keyboard I do not like... not as smooth at the samsungs.

you can also buy a burner phone in the airport, provided you don't come in late at night.

If you prefer your own phone, any quad band phone will suffice. However, if you expect to have a good screen, good UI and a good camera, remember that you get what you pay for.
