If there's anyway to take SW, look into it. Bargains galore.

My problem with SW is that I have to take a connection and their only published flight gives me a little under 50 minutes connection time. This means I have to run for my gate, board last and get stuck between 2 smelly fat guys. Plus if my originating flight is late, I'm stuck overnight.

Price-wise, AA is sometimes a few dollars more, sometimes a few dollars less than SW. My membership level gives me free checked bags and free seat upgrades. Plus they have more flight in and out of San Jose.

But we all have our own preferences and horror stories with airlines.

Just got back from trip #3 and flew on Southwest. They are now including the exit tax as well.

YES, you would. Everybody would if they were free.

Illogical function. Spirit would have a $25 free ticket charge.

Not necessarily...convenience and comfort have a price, if you can afford it and don't mind paying for it

Having flown Spirit many times over the past ten years I have to disagree. I probably hate this airline as much or more than any former customer. I met a Spirit captain staying at the Sportsman's who tried to convince me that conditions have improved. He offered to give me complimentary tickets. I didn't bother to take them. The tickets would have to be free and I would have to be paid to subject myself to the Spirit Experience. It rates right up with getting a free rectal exam courtesy of the U.S. government, (draft induction center) as memorable lifetime experiences. Those of you who like the airline use it to go from here to South Florida or South Florida here. The problems don't start until you have to make a connection. Only 25 percent of their flights arrive and depart on time. Not short delays, expect 6 to 8 hour delays. Miss a connecting flight and it may be two days before they can put you on their next available seat. No accommodations or assistance provided. If you have to buy a seat at the last minute on another airline rather than wait two days in Fort Lauderdale you will realize that free can cost you money. They will quickly tell you go somewhere else if you don't like the way you are treated. I went somewhere else.

I recently purchased last minutes tickets from Atlanta to Las Vegas for an employee.
Looking on Kayak, Spirit was $256. Delta was $542 (both round trip prices).
I purchased the Delta tickets as I wouldn't subject an employee to the Spirit experience.
