Does anyone have recommendations for shuttle services in Guanacaste? I normally use Interbus, which I have always had good experiences with, but it doesn't appear that they have shuttles that run from Montezuma to Samara. I am considering Tropical Tours. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks all!

Rent a car then drive to Puntarenas and take the ferry over to Punto Naranjo it will be an adventure you will never forget.... I Promise. Personally I like the freedom of having a car in Costa Rica, and do not find driving to be any worse than in the US. The roads are a different story but playing dodge the potholes is kind of fun.

Well to begin with montezuma is in punterenas province not guanacaste. I think thats why the southern tip of nicoya peninsula is isolated from the northern part.
Driving and exploring the area of the coast between montezuma, mal pais to samara used to be a favorite drive of mine, an adventure. Especially when locals would say, you cant get there from here.
Ford a few rivers, get a little lost, get unlost . Get some lunch ford a few rivers etc...picking your way along mostly unmarked dirt roads. All done before waze or google maps. Exercise caution at river crossings. Watch out for crocs.
Truly the Lost Coast. CR the way it used to be.
Go to mal pais and find a taxi driver who will take you or just go in a rental 4x4. Cant get lost if you follow the coast.

Only recommendec in dry season dec thru march although the rainy season aint what it used to be.
